The Great Drogba Debacle, Pt. 786
By: Jack |So Drogbacite is at it again. Who would’ve thunk it?
Ze Drogs sat down with the always-reliable Sun for an exclusive interview. Bi-polar man spilled his heart to the newspaper, speaking on such topics as how he nearly quit the game last year and how horrible that 90 thousand a week salary really is.
The Sun took [...]
Holiday recap: More fun
By: Jack |It was quite a Christmas for Chelsea.
First, the Blues picked up a vital three points in a 2-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge. To be honest, the Blues could’ve sleep walked through the match and triumphed. Regardless, Chelsea looked focus, efficient and — most importantly — lethal in front of goal.
Then things got [...]
Rant Box: One down…
By: Jack |One fellow London club to go.
Chelsea opened the holiday fixture backup with an efficient, if not spectacular, 2-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge. The Blues close out this merry time of year with an away match with Fulham. An easy task this is not.
The Cottagers are riding a run of eight games unbeaten (yes, [...]
Rant Box: Chelsea v West Brom
By: Jack |Tis the season … for poor results.
Chelsea have looked less like an elite club and more like a pub side of late. A goalless draw away to Everton on Monday followed a home draw with West Ham, and leaves the Blues with just one win in the top flight since November 15 at Bolton.
How do [...]
Merry Christmas from CO!
By: Jack |The Chelsea Offside would like to extend its most jovial of holiday wishes to all the readers out there that have made this blog great. Without you guys, this place wouldn’t exist — and I thank you.
I know I’ve been slacking on posts of late, but I promise, as the new year approaches, that business [...]
Rant Box: Chelsea v Everton
By: Jack |I’m leaving town tomorrow for the Christmas fiesta of Christmas fiestas. So I had to get this box of chocolatey goodness out early.
Let’s get down to business, already.
Chelsea, coming off an egregious 1-1 draw with West Ham at Stamford Bridge returns to its real home this season — the road — for a pivotal fixture [...]
Recap: Sickness
By: Jack |Damn. I emerge from a cocoon of illness (a nasty cold if you must know) on Saturday only for Chelsea to make me sick Sunday. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
On Saturday, it couldn’t have gone better for the Blues. The Scum draw. Arsenal draw. United draw.
Couldn’t have asked for a better home date, either [...]
Rant Box: UEFA Cup edition
By: Jack |Who’s ready for Europe’s second-tier competition? I’m not.
Chelsea must win today to avoid the prospect of playing in the UEFA Cup, a disastrous idea to be sure. A Milan-Chelsea final wouldn’t be all that bad, would it?
Riiiiiight.
To move into the Champions League knockout stage, the Blues must get past a pesky CFR Cluj side with [...]
Transfer news: The Voyeur really likes Kalou, eh?
By: Jack |I had heard over the summer that Arsene made a cheeky inquiry into the availability of Chelsea’s first bi-polar footballer, Salomon Kalou. I laughed it off, then began to think.
Maybe The Professor is, in fact, an intelligent man attempting to sway Uncle Phil into keeping Kalou and all his erraticness. Cheeky boy that Wenger.
Now, however, [...]
Video: The Artistry of Deco
By: Jack |Let’s talk.
Saturday brought forth a record 11th straight Premier League away victory for Chelsea, a comfortable 2-0 decision against Bolton at the Reebok. Unibrow beautifully set up an Anelka header within the opening 10 minutes, before Deco stole the show with a eye-catching scissor/overhead strike past Jusssssi from about 18 yards. Insane stuff.
As the Guardian [...]
