Video: Petr Cech Web Chat
By: Jack |Here is last week’s live Web chat with Petr Cech in full. He didn’t answer my question (bastard), but great insight into the big man nonetheless.
Breaking: Kalou shows some fight
By: Jack |Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou and Abdoulaye Meite were both in the Ivory Coast squad to face Germany in Wednesday’s international friendly (2-2 draw). Neither was available for Saturday’s World Cup qualifiying win over Guinea after the two went all hyphy on each other in training. The two have since made up (awww).
Raise a pint for the Irish, they deserve it.
By: Jack |“Those that doubted football’s cruelty ought to have been on hand here in Paris.”
-David Hytner of the Guardian, following Ireland’s 1-1 draw (2-1 aggregate loss) to France on Wednesday.
Applaud these men.
This is obviously a non Chelsea-related post, but I don’t care. On this day, the Ireland national team deserves recognition across the board — across [...]
Sawyer’s contract terminated
By: Jack |Way to go, kid. Lee Sawyer, a midfielder who had been with Chelsea since age 9, had his contract terminated on Nov. 12 after being returned to the Blues by his loan club, Southend United, at his own request.
Blues bid £14m for Everton’s Rodwell. Huh?
By: Jack |Outlets across the board reported Saturday that Chelsea have launched a preliminary bid for Everton kiddie Jack Rodwell. The number I’m seeing — and I’m rolling with the Independent on this — is £14 million.

We at Chelsea Offside wish you the best, Carlo.
Crisis? Chelsea’s injury list grows…
By: Jack |Just a few short weeks ago, Chelsea appeared the strongest team — at least squad-wise — in the English top flight. How quickly things can change.
Following this weekend’s international break, the list of those on the treatment table has grown exponentially — and not simply from lining up for their respective countries.
Nico saves the day; New Guy in town
By: jon |Off a defender, off a post, in the net. Mr. Anelka took care of business away for France, making their trip to South Africa look pretty likely. As Jack posted earlier this week, Nico likes being the supporting striker, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to let it rip on occasion.
Also in [...]
Hold your breath: Lampard pulls out of friendly with thigh injury
By: Jack |Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has flown back to England after sustaining a thigh injury on international duty in Qatar. Lampard was preparing for England’s friendly against Brazil this weekend.
Team News: Bos out for three months
By: Jack |Bosingwa ruled out for three months
Via the official Web site: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that José Bosingwa underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this week. His recovery time will be approximately three months.”
S***. At least we have an in-form Branislav Ivanovic to continue in his absent. Who knows, Bane may be first-choice, anyway.
