Drogba snuffs KG
By: Jack | June 10th, 2008
I dislike the Boston Celtics. Let me rephrase that: I hate the Celtics. Paul Pierce has the ugliest game known to man. James Posey isn’t that far behind. And PJ Brown, well, useless.
But their icon, the man they traded about 32 players for, Kevin Garnett, is a Chelsea fan. So I guess I’ll ride for KG if I have to. I’ll back him up in his latest beef, too, one with former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Garnett, whose gone to battle with several NBA stars — Kobe Bryant, Zydrunas Illgauskas to name a few — over his love for the Blue side of London, was recently quoted as saying friend Drogba had not called him to wish him luck in the NBA Finals.
“I sent him a good luck telegram and he got it and I wished him good luck, but up to this point I haven’t spoken to him nor heard from him,” Garnett said before the finals.
All this after KG sent Drogs a good luck message before the Champions League final, too. Shocking, simply shocking. To think Drogs would make a commitment then renig on it is downright blasphemous. Really.
In other news, Chelsea Offside reader Tom unearthed this little gem. Below, KG is presented one of those nifty 08-09 Chelsea home jerseys. “This is huge,” he says. No doubt son.
P.S. I don’t think Essien will be too pleased that his No. 5 has been compromised.

Paul Pierce is a PTP’er and he gets it done. Maybe you hated the Celts of yore but how can you not root for KG and Ray Ray. Number 17 HERE WE COME-

You would hate the Celts too, and any other team from Boston for that matter, if you have ever spent an extended period of time around anyone from Boston. I hope that the Celtics lose and then a massive earthquake breaks all of New England off of the continent, and it sinks in the middle of the Atlantic.

Wow that’s harsh. Not everyone from Boston talks like a wicked fawkin douchebag, guy.

celtics will win either game 4 or 5, and theres no way the celtics are losing both games at home. celtics in 6.

I love how Pete used PTP’er. Haven’t heard that in a decade. Love how the C’s fan(s) come out of the woodwork. Where have you guys been for the past 20 years?

Well Jack, the past decade or so we’ve been too busy basking in the glory of our other beloved New England teams. Victory parades can be tiring, you know : )
Evan my friend you have to lighten up a bit; not all of us are THAT bad. Granted, there are lots of Massholes, but don’t hate on the entire region. Boston is a lovely place if you can deal with terrible weather 8 months out of the year, bad drivers, and a ridiculously absurd road system.

Good blog Jack but I have to disagree with you on Paul Pierce. Using Shaq’s quote from 2001, “dude is the mf-ing truth.” He even visited the Chelsea training camp at UCLA with Juan Dixon in tow last year. Check the vid:

Loathe the Pats (because I live in Naptown) and detest the Celtics but I am a Kansas fan so I gotta root for Paul and the C’s. KG is a total freak of nature and deserves a title after being exiled in Minnesota for so long. Plus Kobe reminds me of Ronaldo with his petulance and arrogance. I like the Scolari signing and hope Essien stays put like his agent said.

You guys are wild. I never said Pierce was a bad player. He’s game, however, is absolutely horrible to watch. I’ve never seen such ugliness. Plus, the guy looks like he might have spent one night, back at Kansas, in the weight room.
Maryland legend Juan Dixon and Chelsea FC. A match made in heaven.

Haha Jack you crack me up, I’m not even going to comment on the Juan Dixon name drop-
Maybe his game his horrible to watch (your words not mine), but it’s brought us within one game of title number 17 as of Friday…
