F**K: Drogba ruled out for season

According to Chelsea’s official site, Drogs has suffered a recurrence of the knee injury that forced him to have surgery earlier in the year and has been ruled out presumably for the rest of the season.

And all you can really say is … Sh*tttttttttt. Or F**kkkkkkkk. Or Motherf*****.

For those keeping count, this is the fourth time Drogba has damaged the knee — diagnosed as degeneration in his left meniscus to be exact — in 2007-08. The Ivorian first was injured on the eve of the Community Shield. Subsequent relapses at Aston Villa in early September and before our FA Cup defeat at Barnsley — which was ironically after surgery — have strengthened questions about Drogs’ health.

“We are doing everything with Didier. In the last couple of weeks he has had a recurring problem, but haas pushed to play and is pushing to play even now,” Chelsea manager Avram Grant said. “But we need to take care of the health of the player and we will see what is good for him.
“At the moment, we’re leaning toward surgery again. The player is not happy at the moment, but the medical staff feel this is best. We are keeping an eye on the situation but we don’t know yet. We will know better in the next few days.”

It’s unclear if Drogba will play against Fenerbache on Wednesday. If surgery is pursued, Drogs would miss between 4-6 weeks, which would pretty much end his season. Fan-tastic.
