Gallery: Winning mends everything

By: Jack | April 26th, 2008

With about a quarter of the match to be played, Chelsea won a free kick near the edge of Manchester United penalty area. Sparks proceeded to fly between egomaniacs Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack. Both wanted the free kick, neither wanted to buckle.

The two argued for a minute or so, eventually separated by Ricky Carvalho. After the kick was taken — a blistering effort by Drogba — the two continued to have a go at each other. Drogs, in particular, seemed to be attempting to quell the disagreement, of which Ballack wanted nothing to do with. It was quite a disgrace if you ask me.

Well, all was rosy some 20 minutes later. Funny how things change init?

It made me embaressed and I’m not even a Chelsea fan.

The funniest image was seeing Michael Essien pull his shirt over his face in disbelief/total embaressment!

If you ask me this was worse than Adebayor/Bendtner as at that time they were losing 5-1 to their arch rivals and were already out of that game, but you were at 1-1 with the hopes of the premiership still alive.

What sort of role models are these lot for children? SORT IT OUT!

It was great TV. You saw at the end the mutual respect for each other when they hugged and embraced.

At least Ballack got to score the penalty!!

If you are embarrassed about that how would you feel finding out that in frustration Rio Ferdinand went to kick a wall after the game in doing so kicked a female member of the Chelsea security staff?

And Capello wants to make Ferdinand England Captain ahead of John Terry.

It’s disgraceful, but he did appolagise immediately and sent flowers, saying ’sorry, it was an accident’.

I don’t want to speculate on accidents etc but this dissapoints me because I thought Rio had grown out of this silly behaviour.

In the states we missed all the fun. fuckin’ 589 channels of horsehockey ‘merkaaner bullshit. I just wanted to see the only match I gave a damn about! Drogs mixing it with Ballack?! Essien pulling his shirt in shame?! Groundskeepers taking on players?! God dammit… then I see Avram Grant had a fucking emotion! I. missed. everything.

It was on Setanta Sports here in the Estados Unidos, JustJack. The trick is to find a friend with dish and a willingness to spend $15/mo on it.
