PL: Chelsea v. Sunderland

By: Jack | March 14th, 2008

chelseasund.jpgFresh off our mauling of Derby, Chelsea travels to face Sunderland on Saturday.  Keano will surely welcome us with open arms to the Stadium Of Light, where the Black Cats have lost just four times this term. Sunderland will need to continue that kind of form if they want to remain in the top flight for at least one more season.

The Blues, on the other hand, are chasing a Premiership title and a stumble here would likely end any thoughts of that.

Team News
Petr Cech is likely still out with injury, while Drogba should — I repeat, should — return to the point. Personally, I would like to see Michael Essien, who hasn’t been his usual dynamic self lately, return to the lineup (but in place of who).  Will Lamps break for four again?  Highly unlikely.  Could Chelsea strike for six again? Possibly.

Carlos Edwards is back for Sunderland, who will be without Ross Wallace.  Andy Reid has looked fairly decent since arriving and may work his way into the XI.  Of course, Kenwyne Jones will line up at the top.
