Thoughts are with you Frank
By: Jack | April 24th, 2008
Frank Lampard’s mother, Pat, passed away this morning after a much-publicized battle with pneumonia. She was 58.
A statement released by the club reads:
“Everybody at Chelsea Football Club is absolutely devastated to hear the tragic news of the passing away of Pat Lampard, Frank’s mother. Our sincerest and deepest condolences go out to Frank, his father Frank Snr, sisters Natalie and Claire and to their immediate family and friends.
“Pat was a very familiar face to many people at Chelsea FC. Her unswerving support for her son’s career was evident at virtually every game that Frank participated in regardless of where it was being played, she would always be there to watch him with Frank’s dad. Pat will be deeply missed by everyone at Chelsea.
“The club will be offering all the support it can to Frank and his family at this time.”
Frank has said his father, Frank Sr, shaped him as a footballer, but it was his mother who shaped him as a person. We here at The Offside send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Lampard family.
Much respect to Liverpool, who were one of the first to offer condolences. Chelsea has also set up a book of condolences on the official website. If you wish to add a message, you can do so here.
Lastly, here’s to hoping Frank will be able to honor her life the way he wishes to.

With today’s advances in medicine, I can’t believe people still die of things like pneumonia. How sad. RIP, Super Patty Lampard.
