He still had 1 year left on his contract! Macca was amazing in his 5 years at the club but with Essien and Jon Obi playing the same position, Maccas chances at 35yo would have been few and far between. Everyone at Chelsea wishes him well and us fans would love to see him back at the bridge to give him a good send off.
