Big Sam eyes Di Santo

By: Jack | June 15th, 2009

This is quite interesting to say the least.

Several members of the distinguished media are reporting that Big Sam Allardyce wants to bring young Franco Di Santo to Blackburn on a season-long loan following the imminent departure of Roque Santa Cruz.

The 20-year-old has made just 16 substitute appearances for the Blues, and regular looks at the Premier League level will do the kid a world of good. At Blackeye Rovers, though? The hoof and hope approach might not do much for his progression. Then again, the physical nature of the club will do plenty of good for the Argentinian who is clearly still lacking in that department.

Regardless, first-team football is what Di Santo needs, and it looks like that is exactly what he’s going to get — whether it’s with Blackburn or another English side.
