Tony Adams. Tony Adams. Tony Adams. Come on Roman… just get blacked out on vodka… wake up the next morning, look at the papers, and mumble, “I’ve hired Tony who?”

Man, Quaresma arrived at the wrong moment!

I was thinking about Quaresma as well, specifically whether his confidence will dip even further now.

John Terry

I wonder when LFS leaves will he take Murtosa and the rest of his staff with him?

Who could possibly replace the Gene Hackman? Who in their right mind would want that job?

It would be brilliant to see Quaresma’s face if they stole the special one from Inter.

On a more serious note – Dya reckon Didier Deschamps is an outside bet? Ex-Chelsea Player, not currently in a job, right sort of pedigree?

Deschamps publicly expressed his interest in the position over the summer and was looked over. I don’t see how that would change now.

haha Quaresma said he would never play under Rjikaard again after his spell at Barca
that would be hilarious if Frank does get hired

pretty sure Steve McLaren will be available soon ..

No Ancelotti on the list? Interesting.

I think Rjikaard is a good shout. he’s available and he’s managed big club teams before, which is important in light of Scolari’s obvious flaws. Just a decent manager whose able to get some confidence back into the team would be nice.

I wish deschamps had stayed at Juve, he’s a great manager. Young, intelligent, ambitious, experienced…Chelsea fans might remember him as the Monaco coach who knocked out (current Juve manager) Ranieri’s Chelsea from the Cl semis in 2004.
I can’t imagine who’d want to be Chelsea’s coach right now though, and that’s why I think Roman will struggle to get one of the bigger names like Ancelotti or Rikjaard.
My question is, who do you think is likely to replace Scolari? I wouldn’t be surprised to see a talented mid-table coach join for now.

Guys, the Russian FA have given Chelsea permission to approach Hiddink, as he’s said this:
‘I must say that this is an exceptional situation.‘If it was any other club aside from Chelsea my answer would be a straight no.
‘But Chelsea is different because I have good relations with the owner. So I would like to help them in this situation if I could.
‘But this would only be for the next two or three months until the end of the season.
‘Of course when Russia would play (World Cup qualifiers) I would go there to coach them during that (international window) as there won’t be any (league) games during that time.
‘I have already done that (combining two jobs) a couple of years ago when I was coaching Australia and PSV, so I’m familiar with the situation and what it takes.
‘I will not leave my job with the Russian national team. It’s out of the question.
‘When I took the Russia job it was a long-term project and I don’t like to leave it unfinished.’
So, we’ll most probably be getting Hiddink for the short-term and possibly when our entire squad will get an overhaul over the summer, possibly Zola and Clarke will make the dream return!
