FINAL SCORE

Chelsea 2-1 Club America

Florent Malouda on his debut (second half sub) on 75mins

John Terry with a flying header makes it 2-1 to Chelsea on 84 mins

Lots of second half changes made by Jose

America scored after 3 mins when a shot from Moaquerdo deflected off JT past Cech
Chelsea have created chances and have had a blatant penalty denied when Sheva was pulled down by CA’s goalkeeper.

Chelsea Team v Club America

Kick off 2.06am (or 6.06pm Local time) aint that a UK radio programme that hates Chelsea!!!!

Petr Cech

Glenn Johnson

Tal Ben-Haim

John Terry

Jack Cork

Claude Makelele

Steve Sidwell

Frank Lampard

Joe Cole

Andriy Shevchenko

Arjen Robben

Jose has promised that where possible everybody will get 45 minutes each as this is the first game of the season (albeit a friendly, results DON’T matter).

Forget Sheva leaving for Italy – Jose has quashed that rumour earlier today and as well Chelsea Football Club has signed a four year deal with the Walt Disney Corporation and Disney’s World of Sports. (More of that later).

As best as I can I will ‘live’ blog this game.

andy, what do you, as a chelsea fan, think of shevchenko so far?

an do you think that most chelsea supporters want to give him another chance, or do you think hes a COMPLETE failure with no hope of any noticeable success and that the fans are sick of him?

(btw, this question is coming from a die-hard milan fan)

I think Shevchenko has been unfairly treated by everybody except the fans. Drogba took a season to settle in and look at him now. The press put unecessary pressure of Sheva with the £30m price tag. He wasn’t given the credit that he deserved with his performances, just criticism for the lact of goals, but he still managed 14.
Sheva should come good this time round but I think he will go in January if he doesnt get off to a good start (scoring goals) that is.

I agree, This season we will probably see Shev playing to his potential. Just hope he’s injured when you lot come to Ewood!

I watched the match (Club America fan here) and i was totally disappointed with Chelseas performance.

I thought we could lost by 3 or 4 goals of difference, mostly because America played with the “c” squad (Only 3 players of the “A” squad played yesterday), still we maneged to keep an honorable score.

Preseason friendlies have no meaning or depth. They are used to give players a chance to gain match fitness before the season statrts. I take no notice of performances results or scores. Whereas Chelsea have only trained for a week CA have had more time to prepare, Chelsea’s performance in the 2nd half showed the same character and determination they had shown in mnay many games last season.
