CL: Turkey? Yes, Please.
By: Jack | March 14th, 2008
The Champions League quarterfinals are set, and Chelsea has drawn Turkish club Fenerbache. Not bad I say. If the Blues are to advance, they will then face either Arsenal or Liverpool (ooooh). Peter Kenyon, for one, was pleased with the way the drawn flushed out.”You’ve got to give them a lot of respect,” Kenyon said of the Turks. “There’s no such thing as an easy team or an easy game at this level. But first and foremost, we managed to avoid another English team. It’s the first time we’ve ever played Fenerbahce so there’s no history between the two clubs and I think everyone will be looking forward to a good quarter-final.”
Let’s just hope we don’t tank the first leg and need another decisive result at home like we did against Olympiacos. Still, is this not our best chance to win the CL? Paul Doyle seems to think so. Regardless of an Arsenal/Liverpool semifinal, this year seems to set up extremely well for us. Now, if Grant can channel some managerial magic…
The rest of the draw is as follows:
Quarterfinal draw
Arsenal v Liverpool
Roma v Manchester United
Schalke v Barcelona
Fenerbache v Chelsea
(teams listed first will play first game at home, ties to be played April 1-2 April and April 8-9)
Semifinal draw
Arsenal/Liverpool v Fenerbache/Chelsea
Schalke/Barcelona v Roma/Manchester United
(teams listed first will play first game at home, ties to be played April 22-23 and April 29-30)

Welcome back to Stamford Bridge on the 8th April to Kezman (a most popular player who tried his best to miss goals more than he scored)!! Seriously he has ‘cult’ status.
As for Grant – GRANT MUST GO!!

We’ve been given a lucky break, but it could just as easily
be a disater..Grant and the team need to go on the offensive
without being Gung ho. Chelsea should’ve learned alot from their recent CL campaign and their experiences against Liverpool points to exposing their weaknesses on the flanks
and defending attacking midfielders. Liverpool will fancy their chances as will all the English teams, Chelsea are a confidence enigma at present and it depends on Grants ability to let Stevie Clarke and JT play their part…Posted from
