Stoch is rising

Here at Chelsea Offside, we’d like to offer our congratulations to Miroslav Stoch for scoring his first-ever international goal in Slovakia’s 7-0 demolition of San Marino on Saturday in a World Cup qualifier. Surely, based on goals of this quality, the 19-year-old Chelsea startlet has to see first-team action on a more permanent basis this coming season, eh? We can only hope.

    I’ll admit it was a pretty good goal, but scoring against San Marino is a bit different to scoring against Premiership opposition. I think the perfect example of this is Alfonso Alves, 40+ goals in the dutch league in the 07/08 season…
