- Wee Man Wright-Phillips has not suffered ankle ligament damage or a fracture — thank God. Regardless, severe bruising has ruled him out of Wednesday’s Carling Cup semifinal second leg at Everton. His absence leaves the Blues without eight first-team regulars for the match.
- Chelsea striker/winger Salomon Kalou settled matters for the Cote d’Ivoire in the Elephants’ 1-0 victory over Nigeria on Tuesday at the African Cup of Nations. I can’t wait until Essien, Didier and Kalou are all back. The African middle to front is sorely missed. Just seeing that Cote D’Ivoire goal by Kalou was so sweet. Although I saw it on FSC in California not on the youtube link which goes bugger on me.
