Jesus Drogba Superstar
By: Jack | September 9th, 2009Chelsea supporters know all too well the defensive contribution made by one Didier Drogba. What we weren’t aware of was the Drogs’ Jesus-like view of himself in this light.

“I often sacrifice myself for the good of the team,” Drogba said, where and to whom I have no idea. “I don’t look at my scoring statistics. Have you ever seen any other great striker do as much defending as I do?
Didier, I must admit I rarely see strikers pop up with key defensive clearances from set pieces as much as you seem to. But to claim it a sacrifice? Well, that’s just you babe. Love it, though.
Luckily, our cuddly Ivorian kind of recovered when he spoke on the current mental state of the Blues.
“We are very confident, and relaxed as well. Our team is solid and physically very strong,” Drog Drogs said. “(Manager) Carlo Ancelotti is highly respected here, and the players regard him as one of us. That’s why I consider the spirit within the camp to be really good.”
Sidenote: Drogba scored twice in the Ivory Coast’s 5-0 demoltion of Burkina Faso on Saturday.

sounds to me like he wants attention.

And attention he will get because he’s our leading scorer at the moment and he has been contributing way more than just goals.

Funny, Wayne Rooney contributes way more defensively methinks. Has Drogs ever tackled someone with his head, eh?

Drogba is a great player ans as long as he doesn’t start going back to the moody way he was at the start of last season he will have another fantastic season

Drogba to me has definitely been trying to change his less than praiseworthy qualities this season. His personality seems a lot more positive on the pitch. This season he has been quickly getting up after challenges and not feigning injury or playacting or complaining to the ref. He definitely seems to be trying to change his reputation, and so far I am happy with the changes I perceive…

Well I am very disappointed with this tie! We cannot afford to drop points against weak teams like Stoke.
What I cannot comprehend is that we must have 1 million opportunities and shots at goal just to score 1 goal. How come our strikers cannot find the net after all the pressure they put on the opponents. This has been the same old story for a long time now(i.e CL Semi finals).
We need lethal strikers, but thats not possible now with the conspired ban.
Remind me again what Kalou is worth? or on and off Anelka?or Drogba’s countless missed opportunities!
Chelsea desperately needs lethal strikers!!!Posted from

Oops…Sorry I did not even realize that Malouda scored at the 94th minute! I left at the 90th minute while I was disappointed and returned,to post a comment here, without checking the score line.
I am glad we won!I am finally relieved! But my previous statement stands, we have to be able to score more with all the ball possession and opportunities our players get.We cannot just barely win all the time.Posted from

this “chelsea” dude seems like he’s actually another barca fan bringing up that game yet again . . . Drogba is one of the most lethal strikers in the game right now. Stoke is a tough team to beat away, they only have 2 losses in 2009 i think at home now. Winning in the end is so much more exciting anyways, hahaa…
