Maldini Monday … at the Bridge???
By: Jack | June 14th, 2009“AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini could be poised to join the backroom staff at Chelsea, BBC Sport understands.” …

Respect to Gianfranco over at AC MIlan Offside, but it looks as if Maldini Monday might be moving across town.
This story has been on the cards for a week now. The initial bylines said Maldini had rejected an approach from new Chelsea manager — Maldini’s former boss at AC Milan — Carlo Ancelotti to take on an unknown role at Chelsea. Now, we’re getting stories suggesting the footballing legend and recent retiree may actually join Ancelotti’s staff. It all seems a bit far-fetched really. Isn’t one of Maldini’s sons highly rated within the Milan youth system?
Still, this would be a superb move. Stay tuned.

sorry guys, but this aint gonna happen. maldini himself has said for the past couple of years that he does not want to get into managing/coaching when he retires, at least not right away. regardless, he would not forsake his team of 24 years, and the team of his father, to go to an english team just b/c of a coach. maldini has been at milan longer than any 3 coaches.

Evan, in my opinion the club has forsaken him! A move now would no longer be a move away from the AC Milan Paolo bled for, it would be a move a way from this new bastardized version of the club I once loved.
