MotM Poll: Chelsea 3 – 1 Everton

By: Jamie | October 15th, 2011

Three goals, a worrying injury to Ramires, further inability to keep a clean sheet, and three points.

Nevertheless, three well-taken points from a fixture that we’ve had immense difficulty with in recent seasons. I’m pleased, but getting more and more frustrated with the goals we keep conceding. Classic Chelsea: Fall asleep after scoring goals and let the oppo have one back.

Danny continues to show our other strikers how scoring is done, Captain Chelsea scored in his 350th match for the club, and the ever-marvelous Ramires capped it all off with a third in front of a crowd that included Big Boss Abramovich, David Luiz, Fernando Torres and the too-often-injured Michael Essien (nice to see him, though!). Fingers crossed that Rami is not badly injured, but it certainly didn’t look good. Could be the damper on our day.

I feel like we are finally seeing the team come together now, with AVB enforcing his tactics, and it’s been great. Now vote for your man of the match and let off some steam while you await the match recap.

  • Man, Mata dominated the poll. Don't know if I've seen such an overwhelming vote before.

  • Looks like Ramires' knee injury may be minor, per Villas-Boas. Not exactly sure what that means, but it has to be good.

@CharlieFineman:disqus You think AVB will put Torres/Sturridge/Drogba  as our attack? I know it hasnt worked great with Drogba/Torres in the past but but with Drogba and Mata acting as playmakers for Sturridge/Torres the goals will start to flow.

Pretty much agree with everything Mateo said. Our inability to keep a clean sheet really pisses me off at times. Voted Mata for MOTM, he's getting better and better, and also special thanks to Andre for sticking with Sturridge.

First, such a shame to concede, the players just fell a sleep on the pitch, Mata, sturridge and Mikel where great, on the first half i saw Mikel move the ball foward so many times, great stuff. Drogba has an amazing team sense and attitude, even if he has no shots on target  his presence as a pivot or just gravitating around the box creates good space for others to capitalize. good possetion over all and decent preformance with out too many flash.

on a side note, where is Josh? i thought i would be a great oportunity for him in the second half, then i saw he wasnt on the bench....sad
