Were we ever really in a position to retain our Premier League title? Unlikely.

Nevertheless, this one stings – if not for the result, the second-half performance. On the ascendancy for much of the opening half, and even at the start of the second, we pretty much flailed following Carlo’s double switch. From there, we didn’t just have a difficult time creating chances, we faced a mountainous task holding off Stoke City.

Stoke City. That was the best I’ve seen them play. Credit where credit is due. They probably deserved all three points on evidence of that second half. Our defense, particularly EBJT and Bob, had a torrid time containing Kenwyne Jones as well as Jon Walters. You heard that right. Jonathan Walters was excellent today, his opener even more than that.

Questions abound for us. The substitutions, particularly that of Ramires. And, of course, how do we respond? Next week’s home tie with Manchester United is now bigger than ever. We must refocus in rapid fashion, particularly after what United was able to do today. More on that as the match approaches.

Not a good day for chelsea on probably the best day of my life.. India winning the world cup. . Tat incredible feeling can only be matched when chelsea wins the champions league.. As a indian team ardent supporter,we've experienced it all.Joy,despair, pain,love,every possible emotion yo can experience in sport.. With chelsea its same. . I just saw a rehearsal of how I would feel when chelsea wins ucl. . I am over moon, on cloud nine. . No words can describe that feeling.. I ve waited my life for that..it has arrived.. Day when I don ve any shame to cry.. I'm sure i'll experience it again come may!:) but coming this game(i don think I can get out of winning wc.. Not sure i'll get sleep for few days), it is tough now.. Manu's confidence would be sky high, and ours would be down except for cech..! But I think we'll pull it off:) cos we're chelsea!:) KTBFFH!

It was a classic Chelsea yawnfest. Clueless, zero creativity, safe football. The defense was weak and Cech had to save everyone's ass. The midfield - what midfield? The only goal was assisted by Anelka and scored by Drogba. And what do they get for that? The pair are split up and our best assist maker is gone, leaving Drogba to hit the post a few times by himself.

It was barely a team performance, more like a bunch of talented individuals each doing their thing. Torres never looked like he was going to do anything significant and he didn't disappoint.

He actually did that "fast free kick" thing that I hate. I used to criticize Arsenal for doing it. It reeks of no-sportsmanship/anything-goes and shows how he has almost given up trying to score from open play and is trying to score from off-play, like that shit goal he and Kuyt scored against Sunderland.

Maybe he should practice free-kicks like Rooney and try to score from dead balls, then people will forget the bad things about him.

I'm truly disappointed. It looks like the Mancs won the league and from their comeback against West Ham, look like the better team going against us in CL. You know that Ancelotti's future will be decided by the the Manc fixtures.

Its amazing how we appear clueless sometimes. Here you are playing against guys that are big in size and relish the aggression and we persistently kept on trying to cross balls from corners or in the course of play when we should have rather kept the ball on the ground more. Please Essien should stop his defensive jobs when corners or crosses are taken against us or maybe he should find someone his size to defend against. Twice he was trying to ward off Jones and made a big mess of it, he should be standing by the post for touch line clearance. Real pity about West Ham but based on their play today they do not deserve to be in the prmiership.
