“New Zlatan” heading to the Bridge
By: Jack | January 10th, 2008According to Svenskafans.com, Malmø FF forward Marko Mitrovic recently signed a four-year contract with Chelsea. Several media outlets reported this as a done deal during 2007, but only now does it appear that the contract has been finalized. The 16-year old, who scored 40 goals in 26 matches for Malmø’s U16 team, also drew interest from the likes of Arsenal, Internazionale, Blackburn, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven. The 6-foot-1 Swede has been likened to current Inter star Zlatan Ibrahimovich and also to Chelsea’s currently talented head case Didier Drogba. He has two goals in four appearances for the Swedish U15 team. Chelsea supposedly paid around £350,000 for the youngster — according to Tribal Football, the fee is an initial £2.5 million so who knows. The move will take place in the summer, and Mitrovich will began his Chelsea career playing for the U18s and reserves.

Any word on the Anelka trade? I want him at a Champions League team so much it hurts. I’m checking google news five times a day. Seriously. I hope he doesn’t get there and then realize he’s made a huge mistake.
