Rant Box: Ancelotti
By: Jack | June 1st, 2009Sorry friends. I was travelling back from a weeding all day yesterday, and haven’t had time to properly get to work on this week’s headline news — perhaps the worst kept in history.
Yes, Carlo Ancelotti has been named Chelsea’s new manager following his departure from AC Milan just a day earlier. He’ll officially replace our savior, interim boss Guus Hiddink, on July 1.
The man with two Champions League crowns will be expected to grab a third with the Blues during his three-year term at Stamford Bridge. As a supporter, I’m not sure how to gauge this appointment. In reality, I’m still disappointed by the depature of Hididink.
However, this is about you guys. How do you feel about the club’s move for Ancelotti? How do you think he’ll adapt to England, and how successful may he be? Hey, at least his English is better than Big Phil’s.
Let me know, people. I’m counting on you.

Not doubting his managing abilities, but his lack of fluency in English is what worries me. Wouldn’t want another Scolari incident happening.

Like I mentioned in the post, though, I feel his English is light years ahead of Scolari’s.

His English is poor. I hope he will speak better at the start of the season, because I do think it’s important that the manager speaks English well. Even I can speak English better than Carlo…
It’s far worse than Guus’s English.Posted from

Guus’ English was perfect. His English seems very good to me…from what I’ve heard. He will be fine on that front.
Now…Im not 100% confident in his ability to win matches yet. He only won Serie A once in eight years as manager. We shall see…

think Rafa Benitez, dodgy team choices unexplainable results but yes a CL trophy in the first year. ive never watched his interviews just hope he’s not as pompous as Mr Benitez too! Chelsea need a likeable guy at the helm, not someone who refuses to take responsiblity for anything apart from wins O_o
i suspect he’ll grow on us and irk the hell out of everyone else. oh joy.Posted from

I think its shocking how quickly some Chelsea fans turned on Scolari, you were fine with his free-flowing football when it was winning you matches and the second you lost a few he’s the worst manager in the world and he has to go. I don’t know how you feel about Avram Grant, but there was no need for him to go either. Both managers were clearly very capable and had the potential to bring you success in the future – Scolari had a good start and I’m sure could have regained the team’s form; and Grant got you to a Champion’s League final and within a penalty of your first win.
For your sakes, it really is in your best interests to stick by Ancelotti, even if things don’t look that good for a while as he there is no disputing he is a world class manager (as with Scolari) and is capable of winning trophies. You need to break this cycle of sacking good managers or you will end up like Real Madrid / Spurs.Posted from

i’d rather we sack our manager each and every month than have rafa in charge of the club..

The players weren’t happy with Scolari. It was simple: He had to go.

Martin, first of all I think most of the fans would of supported Scolari if it came to that. I liked him up to the end.
Avram Grant was a great manager and I wish he was still in change.
