Rant Box: Chelsea v Everton
By: Jack | December 18th, 2008I’m leaving town tomorrow for the Christmas fiesta of Christmas fiestas. So I had to get this box of chocolatey goodness out early.
Let’s get down to business, already.
Chelsea, coming off an egregious 1-1 draw with West Ham at Stamford Bridge returns to its real home this season — the road — for a pivotal fixture with Everton. The Toffees, like Chelsea, should be up for the match; a last-gasp winner from Ashley Young doomed Everton against Aston Villa on the weekend.

Like the Blues, Everton has struggled mightily at home this season with only one win at Goodison so far. Chelsea will be looking to break Tottenham’s 48-year mark for consecutive away wins to start a campaign with its ninth straight road victory of the current term.
The Blues have failed to win in three of their last four Premier League matches. This must stop. A healthy Drogbacite will no doubt buoy Uncle Phil’s already-bleek mood. What’s this I hear about him possibly being lined up to replace Dunga? Get outta here.
Link-up man Andrei Arshavin is back on the Chelsea radar as well, with news that Philly has been given 20mil to spend in January. Why do we want a CL cup tied player? Even if he’s a Gudjohnsen-type player.
You know the drill. Leave me kind words — and good tidings — before, during and after the match right here. Deco for towel boy.

Should be a hard one away from home…I hope we leave with the points…

I don’t know about you guys but have you heard of Ibisevic who plays in TSG Hoffenheim? Man he’s awesome. Scored 18 in 17 games. His club’s top of the table in Bundesliga. Should we try and get him?

There is no hope trying to get Ibisevic, it is because of him that TSG Hoffenheim are first places in the Bundesliga now. I will also give credit to their Nigerian and Senegalese players, Ba and Obasi <- Jack has posted something about this lad in an older post. But I highly doubt that Hoffenheim will be willing to give up their remarkable style of play and possibly a future run for the German Title and the Champions League, where lots of transfer money will be injected into the gaffers hand. So, ultimately, we would be wasting time in trying to attempt to capture the Bosnian superstar. I was hoping Arshavin would become a blue ever since the Euro. He was magnificent and a very consistent player… not a “espectacular” like the Spanish dub Messi, C. Ronaldo, and Aguero for example. Arshavin would fill in the attacking mid-fielder stop that no one had been able to fulfill this season as well as pose a threat as a secondary/supporting striker that could perhaps assist Drogba and cure his hindered spirits.
Good luck to the Blues versus Everton, I hope we get our Stamford Bridge record to start up again, and perhaps a rejuvenation of our tactics that haveb’t been working for us in the last 5 games.Posted from

what a horrible call to JT to send him off..he was obviously going for the ball.
yellow card, i’d take it, just because he fell hard, and this is soccer, but red card, honestly?

Obviously going for the ball doesn’t change the fact that it was a terrible attempt at a challenge and a deserved red card.

Are our strikers really that shitty or is it something else? And sadly it was definitely a straight red for JT. Clumsy one really

Damnit…this Chelsea side is disappointing..

All of a sudden we draw Juventus and their fans troll our boards. Get up out here.

It wasn’t our strikers, couldn’t get the ball to them in good areas… the red card really changed the game… shoulda take deco out instead of joe cole in my opinion.. woulda had more pace left in the game then. I can’t wait till essien is back, I think he’ll definitely add that extra spark we need in mid-field… I hope…
