Is AVB trying to get Fired. We have had better coaches fired for less. Why would you start a weak squad when you just lost to Lpool. This drives me nuts. I understand that the League Cup isn't our priority, but its better than no trophy.

Huh? Our priority in the League Cup was clearly blooding our young quartet rather than winning. I think that was pretty apparent very early on in the game.

I'm miffed with the loss, but not because we lost - more because we didn't really see an effective approach from the players. Romelu looked a ready-made beast, though.

What are you talking about? It was quite clear that today Andre just wanted to get some players time and others some rest. I don't think winning was a priority. It was somewhat disappointing, sure, but to suggest the guy is a goat is absolutely ridiculous.

His post-game interview does not really say he was trying to just rest players. He claims it is a 3 years project ... but is he using Josh MacEchran? Is he using Romeu ? is he using young strikers? how could this season help the 3 years project... using Drogba that might leave at the end of season? using Ashly in all games ?

I hope he is the man that most people think ... I am also looking for consitency

Because a coach is supposed to come out and publicly state that he was looking at simply getting some players games rather than focusing on the win? Yeah, that's just not going to happen.

And, yeah, it clearly is a project. The focus is on improving this team long-term while also attempting to keep us in the CL. It's a massively difficult task. You can't just fix a team with glaring, deep-rooted issues/problems - which we've all known about for some time - overnight. I mean, it seems to me that many of us have grown so accustomed to winning that anything else is just not acceptable. Where does it end?

Let AVB mold his own side. If, in two seasons time, the project is still that, a project, then maybe we should re-evaluate. Until then - or until we're looking at struggling to finish in the top half - I remain behind the man.

Although it isn't pretty now, I think AVB is the best thing ti happen to you guys in a long time. If he can keep his job for a few years I'm sure it will begin to work itself out. I completely agree to suggest that he is incompetent based on last nights match is not called for.

I too was disappointed with Arsenal's loss last night, but I am relieved mostly that we won't have a gruelling semi final tie next month when the priority should instead be on the league.

My God. Terrible. We have an absolutely pathetic defense. No one coming back to cover on the first goal.  On the second goal - I live in Mississippi, and I was probably closer to defending Kelly than anyone in a blue jersey.

Jack...I think today we can all see why ramires is not a good player at all. josh was better at both defending and playing the ball. He is sleak...Mr ramires did more harm to the team than any good. Anyways, the team is just dying ...sad but true

were we watching the same game ? He gave away the second free kick needlessly, he was committing unnecessary fouls, he was not providing any thing creative but one easy pass to anelka. You can easily see the team was more stable when  josh was playing. There is a reason why ramires is no longer making it to the Brasil's national team...I think you should get real yourself !!

I'm tempted to say get real, too. Sorry, bro, but Josh didn't have an impact on the game. The starting midfield wasn't a good fit for him at all. We improved in the second half, with Ramires in the mix. Had Anelka been more decisive - or had his nutmeg of Reina actually come off - we'd all be talking about Ramires' killer through ball.

Mr. Jack. I am always ready to be corrected if Ramires improves his game as much as  you suggested. I am sorry to say, he has always been a disappointing weak link in our game.  I have nothing more  to say to you, but invite you to follow his games closely with an objective assessment. I have no doubt that had their been better players like Essien, he would never get playing time. He is faster but much like mikel in that he is dull and has negligible contribution apart from his fouls. There can be no excuses for him as atleast mikel was never expected to create goal scoring opportunities. 

I have yet to see the match and you're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I can't see how I could agree that Ramires is a poor player. No way.

Can we be more horrible?GOD. Before i wasnt afraid when teams came to Stamford Bridge but now we must be scared as we can lose easily, no matter who we face. Newcastle away is a huge test and OH GOD i am terrified of that city game next week. Seriously what the hell is going on??

injured in a challenge he made on spearing. he was impressive on the ball during the 40 minutes he got. showed composure and confidence, hopefully it's not a serious injury
