Also our management and scouts are quite inept.
1st, we bought an overvalued player for 50 millions pounds when he is normally valued at half that amount.
2nd, we failed to buy Luis Suarez, who everyone knows was an excellent player both for Ajax and Uruguay at the World Cup.
3rd, we went into a panicky mode and failed to recognize that though the players are responsible ultimately  it is the coach's responsibility. (i.e Bayern Munich fired Van Gaal and look they started winning afterward with their interim coach. Kenny Dalglish for Roy Hodgson)

These players don't suck. They are just not motivated and lack any enthusiasm and winning desire.
I am glad we are 2nd but deep down I fear of what might comes but if we persist in this morose direction.
Ancelotti has failed in every possible way and thats the truth.

Maybe no one cares, but this Newcastle side was emphatically demolished by a Liverpool side 3:0 just 2 weeks ago. A Liverpool that had nothing to play for except pride.
We certainly did not play motivated but that is no excuse, we should always play to win. These players are paid to win not paid to stroll around Stamford Bridge.
If this is how we end up playing next year, I am very afraid because the competition is getting tougher.

    It feels like November again.

  •  Pretty much sums this season up for me.

  • ...

  • Chelsea

We failed to win because we had no desire to win.

  • Chelsea

     Abramovich is not happy!

  • He shouldn't be happy.

  • Chelsea

Damnit it 2:2 Newcastle equalized 92nd minutes.

  • TxChelseaFan

missed the first half, how did josh look?

  • Pretty good. Lost possession a few times, but handled himself rather well.

  • ALEX! BEAST! I haven't mentioned this week how much I love that guy. I LOVE THAT GUY.

  • Chelsea

     Alex's head-bolt 2:1 @ 83rd minutes.

  • ph0bolus

Should've been a like for like substitution for Torres...He's just a waste of space at the moment.

  • ph0bolus

Then again so are most of the team.

  •  RUBBISH.

  • Chelsea

Benayoun is replaced by Drogba. Malouda for Ramires. Essien for McEachran.

Benayoun was quite anonymous obviously he has not played in a in very long time.

  •  A triple substitution? That's ridiculous.

  • This is seriously just rigoddamndiculous. Play some football, guys. It'd be nice, considering this is the last home match and all.

  • ph0bolus

Torres looks like he's never played in the premier league before.

  •  This is painful.

  •  Torres looks out of sorts in a system that's clearly pieced together for his benefit. Worrying.

  • Chelsea

Halftime 1:1. Quite an undistinguished first-half. Nothing impressive from either side.

  • ph0bolus

Wow..I would rather watch paint dry than this.  It looks like we are playing for the draw.

  • For once I actually agree with one of the commentators.... pedestrian to the point of being painful to watch.

  •  As soon as I commented that I thought we were fairly dominant, we entered a dimension of lethargy not seen in months. Woeful.

  • Chelsea

This new kit is aesthetically well designed. Beautiful Blue/White!!! I love it.

  • No disrespect, but, as I commented on Twitter, I think it looks horrible.

  • Chelsea

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

  • Chelsea

Newcastle has more or less been our equal. We have just slightly more possession but we are really going nowhere with the ball.

  •  I don't buy that. We've dominated - just lack a final ball. Newcastle have offered nothing going forward.

  • i dont' know who's front two are worse, ours or theirs

  • Chelsea

All the Premier League referees look alike...They are all bald-headed (i.e Webb). Today's referee looks like Mike Dean's twin brother.

  • Chelsea

McEachran must be careful. The way he plays and handles the ball, he bears the risk of losing the ball by trying too much. One bad pass, or wrong turn or too much dribble can result in an interception and a goal.

  •  Ridiculously unfortunate goal to give away. That free kick was miles wide if not for the deflection.

  • Chelsea

Gutierrez's deflection from Ryan Taylor's free kick after a John Terry's foul. 1:1 after 10 minutes. Ridiculous. The wall broke apart.

  •  nothing we could do about that...maybe we should train some deflection free kicks as well

  • Chelsea

Man....see how Roman Abramovich was excited...thinking Torres was about to score. Never question the owner's love for this club!

  • Chelsea

1:0 for us by the way... A corner kick then headed by Torres then deflected by Ivanovic into the net just after 4 minutes of game.

  • Where was this start last week? Haha. Wonderful boys!

  • new kit, scoring early, Josh playing holding, but no Colo/Luiz shenanigans

  • Chelsea

The game is about to start....Early morning here.

  • I love this lineup very much.

  • CharlieFineman

     JOSH STARTS!!! YESSSSSS!!!

  •  Dear lord Josh gets a start. With Benayoun. Uncanny.

  • Chelsea (4-3-3): Cech; Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Cole; Ramires, McEachran, Lampard; Anelka, Benayoun, Torres. Subs: Turnbull, David Luiz, Essien, Drogba, Mikel, Malouda, Ferreira.
Newcastle (4-4-2): Krul; Simpson, Steven Taylor, Coloccini, Jose Enrique; Gutierrez, Barton, Ryan Taylor, Ferguson; Shola Ameobi, Lovenkrands.Subs: Soderberg, Smith, LuaLua, Ranger, Tavernier, Kuqi, Sammy Ameobi.
