Rant Box: Fulham v. Chelsea

So now what? Whose fault is it? Who's taking the blame/responsibility?

Is Ancelotti incompetent or does he simply not care? Does he have an eye (or two) on the exit door to Roma?

If things keep going like this, soon people will start asking if he was a great coach at Chelsea or if he was simply lucky to have such a great group of players.

The problems are still the attacking midfield. Anelka is not bad as a make-shift midfielder, but he works better with Drogba. Using Anelka behind Torres won't work instantly. Then taking out the attacking midfielder for Kalou shows how predictable Chelsea has become.

Chelsea will keep spending and spending on everything but a creative midfielder to the point where the dream lineup would be this:

Castillas
Cole, Pique, Luiz, Alves
Lampard, Mikel, Essien
Torres, Villa, Ronaldo

Subs: Terry, Kalou, Ramires, Cech, Ivanovic, Ferreira, Drogba.

With a squad like this, who needs a creative midfielder? Or a coach? Just pack a team of strikers, wingers, fullbacks and defenders and a manager.

id go far as saying he was lucky to pick up a great bunch of players, still mostly a mourinho team, warning signs came after that loss with inter where his tactics were poor. but getting kicked out of CL early enabled him to concentrate on league and FA cup. Hes been very poor in not standing up and planning for future, getting rid of experienced players and not replacing them was a mistake, standing by and watching wilkins go was a mistake.

Positive(s) from the game: DAVID LUIZ. Penalty aside, this guy put on the best performance on that pitch by a long mile. If this is what we are to expect from our Brazilian mop-top week-in week-out, I'd say that is €25 million very well spent, maybe even a bargain.

We have a lot of possession but seem nowhere near to score.

Our service to Torres is very poor. All the balls Torres is receiving are from long-distance passes that skip over the whole midfield. In fact we don't even have an attacking midfield. We are not playing good football @ all. Torres is isolated. It seems we are awaiting a moment of magic from him to give us a goal, but thats not how we should win.
Ancelotti you are on trial until the season ends!

Dare I say it, but we need Kalou's ability to run at defenders. That might free up some channels for Torres to work in. Hell, maybe Drogba can put it in the shift he did against Sunderland to free up some space for the mighty Spaniard.

What kind of odds can I get on Torres netting in the second half? Sounds like an excellent punt to me after that opening 45.
