So far we've won two games and none of our players have scored a goal...
    #efficiency

  • CareFreeChronic

Didn't finish the chances but it is encouraging to see that, at least, goal scoring opportunities are being created. Much better showing than how we played against Portsmouth. Goals will come later.

  • Full time, 1-0. Lackluster would be an appropriate adjective.

  • welp, AVB has a lot of work to do.

  • A pseudo goal to spare our blushes - at least for now. Could we at least create a couple more quality opportunities? That's all I ask.

  • Sharinganfx

at least he won't ever play these teams out in regular season? first half was stacked MF with no finishers and 2nd half is finishers with no MF. could've just put out a strong 11, score a few goals and then experiment...

  • I'm more worried about the lack of zest in the team. Shouldn't these guys be out to impress?

  • Jtartarkin

they look too tense trying to impress avb and more worried about making mistakes then forcing the issue. thats my opinion at least

  • That was about as porous of a display as we could have imagined. Lots of work to be done.

  • Sharinganfx

The beast does it again. Not really a goal but still the only player who works magic.

  • This is still substandard stuff.

  • Sharinganfx

remind me again why half these guys are still on the team?

  • You tell me. Where's the energy?

  • Loads of changes. Studge, Anelka, Drogs, EBJT, Chalobah, Paulo, Ashley, Yuri, Mikel, Billy Clifford and Rawse on.

  • WOW! so close for Obi

  • uninspiring to say the least. it is evident we need fresh faces/talent in the first team

  • ph0bolus

Looking at it optimistically, FC Porto didn't have a very good preseason under AVB either, and look at what they achieved last season.

  • This is true, but it all looks far too similar to last season for me. It's glaring.

  • Not that you can really compare us to Liverpool, as they should be well ahead of us in terms of preparation, but, after watching them play this same XI, it's tough not to. Where's the zest, the eagerness to impress?

  • AlbionArks

Chelsea are playing a different XI than the one Liverpool played. This is the U-23 side

  • I understand that, which makes it somewhat more worrying. We didn't even get the first team, yet still struggled to make inroads.

  • Lethargic. Not impressed.

  • Sharinganfx

    another clinic in not finishing

  • ph0bolus

I think Torres still thinks he's in the 10/11 season.

  • So does the rest of this side.

  • I wish there was something to say about this match, but nothing really is happening.

  • That's better.

  • ph0bolus

Commentary on FSC is almost as bad as the Womens World Cup.

  • CareFreeChronic

You mean the commentary on FSC is almost as bad as the commentary on the Women's World Cup or that the Women's World Cup itself was as bad as the FSC commentary. If it's the latter, you obviously didn't watch the Women's World Cup which was an exciting competition.

  • ph0bolus

Thought it was self explanatory, but i was referring to the commentary.

  • CareFreeChronic

Oh, good. I'm glad. Sorry about my confusion. Which channel did you watch the Women's World Cup games on?
I watched it on ESPN and the commentary was fine (Ian Darke is a legend.)

  • ph0bolus

Watched them on ESPN as well, not saying anything bad about Ian Darke, but the color commentator I think it was Julie Foudy was a pain to listen to.  Saying Necib from the French team had a likeness to Zidane Zidane was one of probably many mistakes she made during the competition, as well as her inability to do math when it came to saying how much time was left in the match.

  • Sharinganfx

the midfield certainly doesn't strike as much fear as lamps/ballack/deco. really wish josh was given a chance higher up...

  • Disjointed start. Lot of passing without a purpose.

  • how comes Rajkovic has no work permit even after being in cfc for 4 years

  • Not really sure, man. Not really sure anyone knows to be honest.

  • ph0bolus

I'm digging the keeper in all white..

  • Rajkovic looks damn good. Someone get this guy a work permit.

  • And we're off.

  • Interesting midfield. Josh to hold I would assume.
