  • Johnny

All the Liverpool fans knew what Chelsea was getting when they signed Torres. His best days were long gone. Now Liverpool is so much better without him. Thank you Torres and Abromovich for giving Liverpool Suarez and Carrol. YNWA.

  • Max

Just wait til next season, when Torres tears you apart. Liverpool couldn't turn down 50mil, not because of the condition of the player, but because you needed the mon.ey

  • Prad

simple truth is that Liverpool wanted to keep torres and didn't need the money. Suarez was meant for supporting torres.

But torres wanted to go, and that pretty much forced liverpool's hand. Since they suddenly had to sell, they extorted as much money as they could from Chelsea, which is good business on their part.

Torres is worth every penny of his 50m pound price. The problem is with Chelsea's formations and Torres' mind.

  • Helge

Torres is actually worse than Sheva was at Chelsea.

He even makes the whole team and especially the strikers a lot weaker! 60m € for NOTHING is already a tough blow, but paying 60m to impair the team is the most ridiculous transfer ever!!!

  • beneb

That video was made first for Arsenal, and the Gunners version is infinitely better put together.

    Just sayin'.

  • And?

  • Vinaymenon07

ok..sorry for the english..To summarize it..i'll say lampard is way off form..and even JT was not good enough today...we need to revamp the team...that is pretty obvious...this team just isn't good enough to win the cl...

  • Helge

to be honest, this team is not good enough for any major competition on club level!

Lampard, Terry, Drogba they are all getting old. The team needs a completely new face. I would expect one or 2 more trophy-less seasons.

  • Marco00

From a neutral's perspective, pretty pathetic. i understand this season hasn't been the best for you, but it's frustrating how you guys just can never seem to get it done in Europe. my favorite brit team too. but i think ultimately the curtain is closing for the likes of Terry and Lampard. You guys need more players like Ramires. Young, hungry, technically skilled.

now the mancs are going to roll through into the final and perhaps snatch the treble. embarassing considering how bad they've been.

  • Max

United will certainly not win the CL. They couldn't beat Barca with Ronaldo, what makes you think they have a chance to win without him? They have no chance of beating Barca, and very little of beating Madrid. They might be slight favorites over Inter, but I can see Inter knocking them out.

  • DrErik

Inter? They're not coming back from down 5-2! Schalke is the great unknown in all this - Real vs. Raul in the Final??

  • Kabir

    They most definitely will comeback!

  • DrErik

So you think they'll win by 4 away goals? Really? That's as likely as Torres winning the Golden Boot.

  • Max

I forgot the aggregate goal difference, my bad. They are more likely than not to progress against Schalke, but they will most likely lost to Barcelona, and more likely than not lose to Madrid.

  • I may regret saying it, but I can't see any way Inter overturns that deficit.

  • Max

If it appears that I'm talking about Inter, I was talking about United. I was referring to the subject of my first post, which was United. Sorry if it was confusing, sleep deprivation does things like that.

  • Vinaymenon07

    come again?

  • Karl Pilkington

Learn to type in freaking English. It makes you look like a moron.

  • Karl Pilkington

    Fernando Torres Chelsea's Number 9
    Fernando Torres subbed at half-time.

I wonder if Roman is getting tired of his play thing? He needs to stop fancying himself as a manager.

  • Francis

Guys, i have to be honest; we might need to bench Lampard and Terry. At 32 Lampard is too old to hold that midfield, personally i think he should come off the bench. Terry on the other hang has become a highly paid spectator in the back. I see guys like Vidic making huge plays in the back, nothing from Terry in a very long time. Truly speaking a lot of us non-english Chelsea fans do not see Terry's importance. We need a coach like Van Gaal who is not afraid to bench these two guys, it almost seems like they never come off regardless of how they play. If their jerseys are untouchable that is the end of the road for us. Torres on the other hand is just non existant, we should have bought Sergia Arguera for less.

  • Max

Terry is the strongest natural leader that Chelsea has, and that England has. Why else would he have gotten the England armband back? Maybe bench him for a game or two, but he is also still our best defender.

Aguero would cost around 40mil pounds, so not much cheaper.

  • chup

Well... I hate to say it, but I knew this would happen. Big changes need to be made if we are to reach another CL final. Carlo needs to go and so do Anelka, Bosingwa, Kalou, Benayoun and one of Ramires and Mikel. They don't have the quality to play at this level and only make our bench look weak. Torres will stay another season until everyone will be convinced he's the biggest flop in history and then he'll go too. We need new blood. Younger players who are hungry for success. It's time to stop going only for big names like Torres. Dzeko, Aguero or Suarez would have been much cheaper and better. Keep the real class players like Drogba, Lampard, Essien or Malouda while they've still got it and put some of those new players next to them. That's the only way we'll be back on top.

  • Francis

Dzeko hasn't been a good buy for man city, infact he is currently rated worse than Torres when it comes to shots on goal etc. Aguera on the other hand is a bonafide beast .... we should have used that money to buy him and a big defender to replace Terry.

  • Max

We don't need to replace Terry.

  • Seth

Ramires? there's a young player who wants success right there. he had a shit game here, sure, but to dismiss him for that? and Mikel battled injuries and had a poor stretch. but he too is young and a very talented player as well. Dzeko has scored an equal amount of goals for City in the EPL as Torres has for Chelsea. Essien and Malouda have had arguably the worst seasons of any Chelsea players this season. They've looked astonishingly poor for large stretches of the season. I really don't know why you're calling for new, young blood after you dismiss 3 players that are under 24 and protect 4 players, three of which are over 30 and Essien is 28. Seriously?

  • chup

I didn't say Ramires was shit, but he's not as talented as you make him appear. He's a pretty limited midfielder and so is Mikel. I said keep one of them, but not both. My option would be Ramires. I'm sorry but I don't see how Mikel is talented either. Yeah, he's not bad, but he's not like Essien used to be.

As for Essien and Malouda, they had shitty seasons but you can clearly see the quality is there. I'd wait another season before dismissing them. I even think Malouda was our best player today after Drogba. He was dangerous whenever he had the ball and made a few good runs.

Kalou may be young, but I think we've all seen what he can and can't do. He will never be a quality player, I'm sure of that. Just like Anelka, he may be good against smaller teams, but he can't deliver on the big stage. Get someone else instead of him. I can't believe how we let players like Robben, Joe Cole, Crespo or Mutu slip and we still keep the likes or Kalou and Mikel. Yeah, Mutu may have a shitty character, but he's a very good player. And this comes from a person who can't stand him. We should have kept him after that scandal and made him pay us back with performances. Believe me, he would have done it.

This Chelsea squad has a weak midfield. We seriously lack in creativity and we don't seem to care. With Lampard out of form, we need someone who can create chances and turn a game on it's head. Mikel and Ramires will never be that player. You say bench Lampard. Ok, and replace him with who? I'd say Benayoun, but for some reason he's mostly on the bench.

As for Dzeko, that guy would have fit better in our team than Torres and he would have been cheaper. Besides, he's not used to the EPL and City is a fairly shitty team too. They have the quality, but they don't deliver. Still, I'd trade our midfield for theirs. Torres is completely out of form and seriously lacks confidence, which is tragic for a striker. I remember a certain Shevchenko who played ten times better than Torres and was still seriously criticised for it and benched. Believe me when I say this, Torres will turn out to be a flop of epic proportions. The flop of all flops.

We have a fairly average squad right now and we can't win the CL with it. If we don't change things soon, then we'll be in serious trouble next season.

And Anelka absolutely needs to go. If Sheva would have been subbed in that final instead of him, we would have won it. I'm certain of it.

  • Ramires was far from shit tonight. He may have been sent off, but proved our best midfielder and one of the select few whose play had real drive about it. No way he deserves to be sold, laughable idea.

  • Truly pathetic. Full deserved exit. Major overhaul needed. KTBFFH

  • Sharinganfx

We all know a Spanish side is winning it this year. Beaten by the dinosaurs again.

    ITS OVER!!! Man U 2: 1 Chelsea.

  • ph0bolus

The scoreline and stats don't lie...2-1, a man down, and possession in their favor...Tell me again how were we the better side?

  • Chelsea

That 1 vs 1 defending by Ivanovic against Rooney was sheer amazing.

  • Chelsea

Drogba hands down the best Chelsea player on the field. Solo performance and effort. But to no avail of course.

  • Joe

is Torres still on the field?

  • Chelsea

is Kalou even on the field?

  • Chelsea

We are chasing after the ball. Man U is in possession. 5 minutes left.

The final passes always seem to be off and badly-timed.

  • Just awful.

  • Desailly

    Salomon Fuckin Kalou.
If there ever was a time to win hearts, now would be it.

  • Chelsea

Anelka is off for Salomon Kalou.

  • Chelsea

WooW! This is bold Drogba is replacing Torres.

  • Sharinganfx

Keep calm and carry on everyone. 2-1 result is all we need. Can't imagine Drogs coming off the bench without some sort of fire.

  • Chelsea

I reminisce Chelsea 2009. That never-say-die attitude. Those brave men who fought with valour leaving us all proud even in heartbreaking defeat.
Those players had a willpower that was unparalleled.
But you see none of that nowadays.

  • chup

    Yeah, that team was fantastic.

  • Torres might want to think about moving every once in a while.

  • Josh

Fulham is getting more return on the investment they made in their Michael Jackson statue than we are for the statue we paid $50M for...

  • Chelsea

You can sense the desire and passion to win among Man U players. They are lively.
In contrast, among Chelsea players, the only thing one can sense is desolation.

  • Chelsea

Man U only needs one or two opportunities to score, and we on the other hand are too wasteful with the few we get.

  • Chelsea

Chelsea's midfield has been missing in action, thus our lack of possession. We are too complacent.

  • Josh

Season is officially over. No need to watch the last 1 1/2 months. This sucks.

  • BLUE4life

WTF MAN? Stop crying and get you ass back in front of the TV. Cheer for your team during good and bad times. No need to have pussy-ass fans like you

  • Josh

Just stating facts. My reason for posting the comment is simple. I love this team. With the quality of players we have, we should expect more of them. If they were simply not the better team in the games they're losing, or if their level of quality was not as high as their opposition, I could deal with that. What I can't stand is watching these guys get paid $$$$$$ and not give a damn. The players obviously have no concern for their success, why should I watch them? The problem is the bad times have been brought on by themselves and their lack of desire to do anything productive. This season, they've simply gone through the motions of training, putting on the shirt, and being on a field for 90 minutes because it's the minimum requirement of their contracts.

  • Chelsea

When everyone is emotional at this time, you should let them get their frustration out however way they can. They may say things they don't mean. So at times like these its all-right.
Your language and rashness are not welcome here.

  • Chelsea

I want to say we have been awful but truth is...we have not even been allowed the opportunity. We have been nonexistent. We are not playing at all. Man U has controlled the ball for much of the game, they have dictated the pace and have held most of the possession.

  • The death of this incarnation of the famous CFC is fast approaching.

  • Josh

It's over. Should've been over this Summer. Too many problems from the start of the season. Lamps and Essien have been awful, EBJT frequently as much a liability as an asset, Bosingwa was the worst purchase ever, Ramires the only thing that resembles a midfielder on the entire squad, Drogba is a headcase, Kalou missing every shot a toddler could make, Sturridge on loan outscoring all of our forwards combined (including our $50M statue). The only first team players worth keeping are Ivanovic, Cech, Cole, Ramires, Alex, and Luiz. Just on the fact that we paid so much for him, I guess Torres should stay too in hopes that an entirely new team might know how to provide service to him. I hate supporting this team.

  • Chelsea

We are down by a goal at halftime.

  • Chelsea

    Damn it

  • Chelsea

    I knew it

  • Chelsea

I am not liking the atmosphere at Old Trafford but it was expected.

  • Sharinganfx

    beaten by giggs AGAIN.

  • Chelsea

This game is getting out fo ahnds. All the referee decisions are against us. Man U players and fans are getting us all riled up. We must not lose our cool.

  • Chelsea

    *hands*

  • Chelsea

According to the ref Chelsea is fouling too much. Malouda booked. Ramires will miss the Semi-Final 1st leg if we qualify.

  • Chelsea

    John Terry gets a yellow.

  • Chelsea

Roman The Great Abramovich is in the stands.

  • Chelsea

Man U is controlling the ball and has possession. Thus dictating the pace of the game. I dont like it one bit.

  • Chelsea

Man U is very dangerous on the counter. Ramires booked.

  • Chelsea

Did Van der Sar just tackled Anelka and took the ball away from him? Wow!

  • Chelsea

It takes Man U just one opportunity to score...and it takes Chelsea millions more to score.

  • Chelsea

Man U Chicarito scored on a header but was ruled offside.

  • Correct decision.

  • Chelsea

Man Alex was roasted by Park.
