I think there's some truth behind the Boswinga report, at least that's how it is reading to me. I'd prefer him to Alves. Though I haven't seen much about him, I've heard him likened to Evra. Reports say it could be official by Monday, thus why I haven't posted anything on it yet.

Is there any truth in Chelsea signing the Porto right back Bosingwa? How good is he?
I think Alves is a rare possibility because i think Barca have included him in their rebuilding plans and he might just prefer to stay in the Spanish league as he has already adapted to the style of play. Also, Barca are a big club who can also offer good money.
As for Villa and Silva, it first remains to be seen if Valencia are selling any one of them or both, specially if they decide to go on some rebuilding plans of their own; they do have a Uefa cup spot to bank on for next season, and ofc ourse this is based on them avoiding relegation. Even if the two do go, u can easily see another Spanish team like Real Madrid snapping them up, who are looking to make their team more spanish, as their President just said few days back.
I'm just hoping Chelsea wrap up atleast one or two transfers in the first two weeks of the transfer season, and then there are the Euros to look out for.

It's hard to say with Chelsea isn't it because there are so many rumours that are circulated around although I know which ones I hope are true.
First of all there's the one about Dani Alves. We really need a quality right back and as I have already mentioned, I'd take this guy over Ramos.
Secondly, there's the one about a double signing of David Villa and Silva from Valencia. This rumour has a great deal of potential truth to it. Finacially, the club are crippled and would need the money from any transfer they could get and as they are nowhere near being able to qualify for Europe, they won't be able to entice either of them to stay at the club.
Finally, I'd love to see Marcelo at the club. The left back has already been labeled the next Roberto Carlos at Madrid but after just one season with Real, surely they would never let this guy leave?

Anyway Ramos has dismissed all rumours about his move to Chelsea, just like most of all other speculation. So which of these rumours actually have any hint of truth?

I personally rate Alves and would prefer to see him don Chelsea blue next season but as others have said on this post, if this is not possible then Ramos would be a very interesting alternative. With Ivanovich already in place I think that Alves would be the better choice, he's quicker than Ramos and a natural right back, plus he can be deployed on the right of midfield, another problem area for us.
The price tag is ludicrous and although you're right Jack - Roman does have enough rubles to spare - if we keep shelling out these figures for players we will never be able to broker a reasonable deal again and which is more Peter Kenyon will undoubtedly fail to see us break even before 2012.

I'd think we'd be pursuing a defender because of the likelihood of Ricky taking off in the summer.

I rate Ramos higher than Alves, mostly because he can play more than one position but i highly doubt Real Madrid are willing to let go off him; weren't they the ones to scare off Milan with his 180 million buyout clause? Anyway, why did we buy Ivanovic in the first place if we are still pursuing a defender?

I personally would like to see Daniel Alves at right back next year, but failing that, Ramos is an interesting option.
