Video: Fabio Borini can’t stop scoring goals

I know I’ve already discussed how much I like this kid, but damn.

Borini, who turns 20 today, scored a brace on his debut for Swansea City over the weekend to help give them a 3-2 win over Notts Forest after former Chelsea and youth product Scott Sinclair had already scored a fantastic first goal. The Italian is such a natural finisher. I’ve heard the complaints that he’s too small and couldn’t compete with the big defenders in the Premier League. Fair enough. But I think, given the chance, he could cope. He knows when to shoot and when to be in the right place at the right time in the box. He can score. Something our first team strikers have been lacking lately.

Here are his goals:

TalkSport has been reporting that he will join Swansea permanently at the end of the season. Borini himself wouldn’t talk specifically about his future, but he did say he would prefer to stay in England: “I’m not thinking about the summer. I’m just thinking about the eight remaining games and doing my best, then we’ll see what happens. I really like the English atmosphere and English football — I think that’s my football.”

We're going to regret it if we let him leave.

  • I agree, but it's also hard to see why he would want to stay when he's obviously now so far down in the pecking order of strikers at our club. (Though the rumor is he wanted to stay but Chelsea wouldn't offer him a contract for the length of time he wanted.)

If the lad keeps his form and either Drog or Nelks gets sold off, there might still be a chance....

Oh God. He's sadly probably gone come the summer. Looks like a notorious goalscorer to me :(
