Video: Piazon against Côte d’Ivoire at U17 World Cup

By: Jack | June 27th, 2011

We continue our visual assault on Chelsea youth prospects with a look at Lucas Piazon’s day for A Seleção against a highly talented Côte d’Ivoire side at the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico. The so-called new Kaka looks a player, it must said.

Piazon scored the opener – a real cool finish – then set up the leveler with what was the last kick of the match. In between, he faded in and out of the match, but overall looked very dangerous. Confident on the ball, versatile – he could prove a gem. That, of course, is still to be determined. Hey, at least we can say we have a talented young Brazilian amongst our youths. Lovely.

Speaking of prospects, perhaps we should inquire Souleymane Coulibaly, who netted all three for the Coast. Real Madrid have been sniffing around the 16-year-old Siena youth player – and you can see why. A tad premature to judge him on just one tournament, but he certainly looks a killer player.

Coulibaly also got 4 goals against Denmark...The kids got 8 goals in 3 games...

As far as Piazon goes, after what happened to the likes of Mancienne, Tore, Bruma, Borini, Sala, and pretty much any other youngster that has played in the youth/reserves its hard to see Piazon or any other youngster featuring regularly for the first team.  I hope AVB proves me wrong though.

I want to see more of Chelsea part owned Wallace..
