Video: The Artistry of Deco
By: Jack | December 8th, 2008Let’s talk.
Saturday brought forth a record 11th straight Premier League away victory for Chelsea, a comfortable 2-0 decision against Bolton at the Reebok. Unibrow beautifully set up an Anelka header within the opening 10 minutes, before Deco stole the show with a eye-catching scissor/overhead strike past Jusssssi from about 18 yards. Insane stuff.
As the Guardian put it: “Here Bolton were killed off before the floodlights were needed.”
The rest of the match, already decided, was fairly uneventful. Both clubs carved out a few chances, but nothing too splendid. Gary Cahill forced a fantastic double save from Cech, and EBJT could have been called for a hand ball in the box. The whole idea of the Blues allowing opportunities is still baffling to me. I’ve yet to adjust — but I guess I must.
Still, Chelsea could have been four to the good by then. Both Deco and Lamps missed 1-on-1s with Jussssssi.
