Paulo is a mor solid defender and when he joined Chelsea he was only considered the best left back in Europe. Jose Bosingwa, is different far more attacking type of left back, very very fast and quick thinker, turns defence into attack extremelly quick. Chelsea will be well furnished aith these 2 left backs, no doubt in my mind. But speaking with a very good freind of Jose Bosingwa that plays here in Germany, if it was not for the slaray in Chelsea J Bosingwa would not join Chelsea, he would prefer to go to ManU, but money talks. J Bosingwa confided and discussed it with his friend, here in Germany,they played together in Porto team and is portuguese as weel, that the only reason to join VChelsea was the salary, as he feels that the present Chelsea management has nothing to teach him, in the contrary in ManU he felt that he could improve as a player with Queiroz and A Ferguson, besides he is a very close friend of Anderson and used to talk a lot. So you see, money talks, and the difference in salary took Bosingwa to chelsea, not the magnitude of the club, or the manager. Well to compare Paulo Ferreira and Jose Bosingwa it is unfair.

He crosses to the area very well and is able to take the ball from defense to attack very quickly. As a man, he's not as reliable as Paulo, he's a bit of a nutter and recently he's had plenty of injuries. A good buy for Chelsea but why do you need another right-back? I'd love to know how "duh" Silva came up with that evaluation, especially given the fact that over the past year Paulie F's playing time has dwindled to almost nothing and that he's mostly getting any of his playing time on the left back side of the Portuguese national team due to him being third choice on the right behind Miguel, and you guessed it, Jose Bosingwa. A back four of Ca$hley, Ricky C, Johnny T, and Bosingwa will give Chelsea a real attacking danger from both rear channels and free up Michael Essien to play his more natural midfield position. You can make the "not worth the money" argument for most any player initially for the most part, and to dismiss the transfer as being way too expensive without seeing him step on the field in a Chelsea shirt is speculative asininity (yes, it's a word) at best.
