Paddy Power refunds all bets on Chelsea

By: Jack | May 7th, 2009

Hilarious stuff.

The folks at online betting site Paddy Power have decided to refund all bets placed on Chelsea for the match against Barcelona on Wednesday.

Here’s what the site’s blog had to say about the decision:

“We’re guessing most Chelsea fans are about as happy about last night’s goings on as Didier “IT’S A F**KING DISGRACE” Drogba. So we’re refunding all bets on Chelsea to win last night’s match and reach the final of the Champions League!

Four penalty claims denied – at least one of which could not have been more blatant, plus the absolute heartbreak of conceding in the 3rd minute of injury time after a fantastic defensive effort over 180 minutes.

It’s not fair, but it’s the rules. But as always the punter’s pal is prepared to bend those rules a little. A bit like the referee last night in fact.”

What a class move by these guys. I think I know where I’ll be placing my bets from now on.

Although the emotional pain is still very real, this minute piece of justice is like a Zoloft on a rainy day.

And thanks for coming to my defense in that CL Final forum. Pound it, Blues brother.

Does this also mean they’re making people who bet on Barca give back their winnings?

Paddy Power is quality. There is a season long competition between Paddy and Kerry Dixon to see who is the King of the Gamblers.

Yes, yes, Jack. This is good. Focus your anger on us instead of something productive. Let Barca fans be the scape goat for all your troubles.

Young man, you need some maturing.

I can’t believe all this nonsense. Not all Chelsea fan are sore-losers though. Dave from WSD was right on cue in yesterdays podcast. Chelsea haven no-one to blame but them selves for not finishing off the game. Sure they had quite a few chances (drogba) but the fact is they did not and not doing so while leaving the possibility of away goals to Barca was very Plexico Burres (shot himself in the foot). The truth is that the ref sucked. 1 penalty should have been give for to Chelsea for the Pique hand ball. And one for the Michael Ballack (Bitter Beer Face) hand ball. The rest were 2008 olympic class diving. And if Drogba had not wasted so many minute i.e. being carried off after anelka fell, there would not have been so many minutes off added time.

Calling Barca fans names though is just Childish. Very Childish and a “@%$#ing disgrace” lol. Drogba is a joke. And now he is stuck at Chelsea because he will surely get a CL suspension and no other team will want him.

Pera once again you have to call Pep not pepe a fag because you lack the necessary reasonable objection to place in its stead. What he was saying is ” Gus you cynical man, you think you are going to win huh, you poor old fool I have 3 words for you “Ghost Face Killah”" all with a smile. A gay smile I guess you would say but a smile none the less.
