Poll: Will Ancelotti win the CL at Chelsea?

By: Jack | June 1st, 2009

No doubt about it. Carlo Ancelotti was brought to Chelsea by Romes to win the Champions League. The man has two trophies, a third must be on the way to call his time in London a success.

So, I ask you, will Ancelotti capture the Champions League during his tenure at Stamford Bridge. It’s a tough question to answer. But, with Chelsea knocking on the door the last two seasons, it seems quite plausible.

Have your say.

this chap has the feel of Mr Benitez about him. I think under Ancelotti we’re gonna see some strange results and strange team choices but he has a feel for the CL and i do think he will bring that cup to the Bridge. that may make Roman a happy man. But i’d really like to see us challenge for the league again all the way and i cant see it under Ancelotti. hope I’m wrong.
we need someone focussed on bringing through talent too. in another year 1/3 of the team will be well passed it’s sell by date!

and Manuelito what game were you watching? Chelsea showed how to shut Barca down and they were so frustrated it would have been a joy to watch were it not for the Ref.

Have you seen the studs up cartoon on this matter? I’d link to it, but I confess I don’t know how on a iPod touch.

u might win the CL but i wouldnt count on domestic success any time soon. Guess a CL win might be worth forgoing league success.

Also, it will be interesting to see Carlo coach outside Italy, He generally likes to play with a slow build up and im not sure that will cut it in the EPL

He’ll kill what little youth you have too. (see gourcuff and paloschi , though there is hope for paloschi) The good thing is he knows how to work well under pressure from unreasonable owners. If you give him time, i dont see why he wouldnt win you the cl though.

Time? yeh Roman’s heaps patient. Champions league could be alot tougher next year. I expect Inter and Real Madrid both to be stronger Milan are back and with a new coach you never know whether they will be excellent or not. Juve have bought Diego and a couple more signings could make them a force especially if ADP can sustain form for the whole season and not fall out of favour with another coach. Atletico Madrid could go far. Munich could be stronger. I dont think the top 4 of England can treat a semi spot as basically guaranteed like the last 3 years

I’ll get more into my expectations later in the week, but as of right now, I’m torn. With the CL eating chunks of my heart over the past two seasons, my love of the competition has begun to wane. At this point, I’m really interested in winning the Prem again — and I’m not so sure Carlo can provide that.

I think he will be sacked before the season ends. All his Milan teams were characterised by ageing players, and I’m sure that is Not what Chelsea require.
