it’s definitely been a poorly and inconsistently officiated game all day, which you always hate to see in big games. i think you have to be a fan to think there’s been 4 penalties, but either way you wish things would be better. but seriously, imagining the ref is out to get you is just silly.

thanks ding. we were much better today yeah but the referee should be sacked for giving 0 of 4 obvious penalties.. he obviously wont be doing anymore big pressure games in the future. absolutely robbed.

To be fair I think only the Pique handball was a penalty. The Abidal red card decision was a disgrace. I get the feeling the ref started out making some calls he wasn’t confident about and thereafter kept trying to “make up for it” to both sides and the balancing act kind of escalated until it just became an atrocious and inconsistent refereeing performance all round.

Credit to Guus and your players though; I can understand why they would be absolutely gutted. But as a Barca fan who has suffered almost 12 years because of bad luck in big games I’ll take this one. We’re going to have to play hell of a lot better in the final though.

I’m gutted by what I’ve just seen and I’m not even a Chelsea supporter. Missing one penalty is any ref’s privilege, but three?

Nobody can blame Barcelona for making their one shot on goal count, but that man should never referee a match again.

Please steve, grow up. There were no obvious missed decisions in the first leg — don’t give me that garbage on Henry either, fanboy. Now jog the fuck on.

HAHAHAHA FUCK CHELSEA. BARCELONA WAS THE BEST TEAM IN BOTH LEGS.

What about the uncalled penalty in the first leg? What about Ballack not getting a second yellow even though he was hacking everyone in sight.

    Good beat evil.

Absolute misery. My heart truly aches. The officiating was a disgrace. If there is a mite of justice left, the neutral pundits will admit that the stronger team, the more organized team, the better team lost this match. The winner is the winner though, whether by merit or luck, and the Champion’s League final can go to hell.

I have to say each team were there better team on their home turf…..If Chelsea had just settled for 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp then it could’ve been so different..we would’ve been watching extra time rite now if yall didn’t just park the bus so much…..BUT AS A BARCA FAN I WILL DEFINITELY TAKE THIS RESULT…

Man, as a half-hearted soccer fan in general I have to say what a game.. but God, I thought NBA refs were bad, if I were a diehard Chelsea fan I would be puking today. what a horribly officiated game. I don’t think drogba was classless at all, if I were him i would’ve done the same thing (although hopefully I would have scored on at least one of the chances that he had).
