Sorry I missed out on the festivities guys. If you haven't heard, I was working (covering a high school playoff soccer match) from about 1pm. Had to travel and just got home about an hour ago. A fucking long day.

But, that fucking long day brought with it a Champions League trophy so I'll deal with it. Amazing stuff. I still don't think I believe it.

Thanks for keeping this space alive during the match. And, you know, thanks to the players and coaching staff for creating something that a lot of us never thought would happen. Wow.

Roman is soooo happy. You can see the smile. He looks so humble and poised in public with a subdued look. He has done so much for this team. I am happy for him.

Hi guys, biggest congratulations from a Real Madrid fan here. A truly Cinderella story ending to your season.

This is what I have in mind:
Chelsea + God + humongous hearts = Mission Impossible accomplished:
    1. Overturning 3-1 deficit against Napoli
    2. Shutting down Barca & actually beat them on aggregates
    3. Beating the demigods of penalties at their home turf (Gods trump demigods, after all)
*) Germans never lose on penalties at the biggest stages, hence their “demigod” status on penalty shootouts.
    4. Even more remarkable, winning 2 prestigious titles with an 2-month interim coach and with 4 main players suspended.

After my team's season is finished, my heart was with Chelsea for this final. Brain definitely said it would be Bayern who would win. How could it not? 1-20 on corners, 43 shots for Bayern? But in the end, you prevail. How nice it is to see such a story in football. I always love this kind of romantic victory.

Drogba is a truly legendary player. He's destined for this. 2 times he barely escaped identical “hero to zero” moments. Yet, a true hero emerged on those occasions in the end.

Enjoy your victory & good luck for next season!

PS: Drogba is now a free agent… I'm hoping he decides to go to his very much beloved former coach with silvery hair here. Would be even nicer if he wins CL with us next season. :P

8 years, 9 managers and most pathetically, spending, $1 billion, the equivalent of a third world nations annual health budget in order to park-the-bus for 360 minutes, playing 4-6-0, over the last 3 matches

Playing with less courage than wigan did in their run in but parading through london like a roman army return from triumph after performing heroically abroad

The trophy has been cheapened, just another one of romans play things, bought without courage or honour, I mean if mediocre players like smicer baros traore biscan didnt hide and took the game to a immensely more talented ac milan why couldnt chelseas superstars man up and leave their centre circle dug out,

Attack vs defence is for under-15 kids in training bibs not grown world cup, european cup and premier league winners

Loved this recap (and every single typo! Hoping those are the result of a well-earned hangover!). I had pretty much the exact same thoughts running through my head throughout the match, which i watched in a bar evenly divided between sides. What a win! What a year!

I just read torres interview, he can suck dick, you dont throw the team under the bus, the day after you win the CL, a team that has been extreamly patient with his preformance and tht has always encouraged him through out the season…
