@Ademola: Well the reason that Di Santo is not starting is because Scolari is currently using wing forwards (Kalou and Malouda) who have been doing a great job, which is leaving just one open spot for a striker which is obvious that a player with the caliber of Anelka would guarantee that spot. Di Santo does go in for a fatigued Anelka or if Scolari yearns a change on the pitch, but we all know that Anelka is lethal alone in the box (Hence, his excellency in Bolton last year and other subsequent seasons). Di Santo is also young and has never played at the professional level before Chelsea. He previously played with Audax Club Sportivo Italian in the Chilean league which does not compare to the quality of the Premiership maybe even the Championship. Good strikers must adapt quickly to the style and pace of the Premiership before they begin to perform. For example a player like Roque Santa Cruz and Amr Zaki adapted quickly, but one like Shevchenko failed to impress despite how good he is. So it is better to keep the wingers in until Di Santo builds confidence and courage. He did have a great header down to an Ashley Cole shot that just missed versus Liverpool and it is plays like that that will help him establish a spot for himself on the high-competition Chelsea squad.

@Phil: Sorry but I am not from Germany. I am Egyptian but I go to college in the United States. =)

Good game against a side who was fighting hard in the first half. Sooo important to not let the scousers get away even further; and given their play against Pompey, they'll slip up soon enough and we'll be there to go top again. UP THE CHELSEA!

@Jack: It says you post from Germany - I am from Germany too! I sent you a message in facebook recently, I'm the Chelsea group admin.

@Mouzinho: A long time Chelsea supporter in Germany?! And I thought I was alone ... check out the Chelsea group on facebook, I am the only German admin there. Where in Germany are you?

why does he not start Di santo in games were we have 90percent of wining the teams both home and away such as the one we have on saturday,so that we will have much creative reserve on the bench.Or instend play him when we have early winings like the match we played yesterday.

Ademola, There are rumors that Chelsea are currently chasing Goran Pandev the Macedonian striker who currently plays for Lazio. Although we currently only have two fit strikers (Di Santo and Anelka), we have other players who are perfectly capable of fulfilling this position, such as Joe Cole and Kalou. Scolari is genius enough to be able to field a Chelsea XI without the injury table affecting him. Why not play five midfielders supporting a lone striker? I see that we are constantly nagging about the teams inability to find an effective striker, but I have realized that Chelsea hasn't been having any trouble finding the net. Anelka has 5 goals, Lampard has 4 goals, Kalou has 3, Malouda, Joe Cole, and Deco have two, and a number of other players like Belleti have 1. Maybe a little more depth in the center forward position would offer more opportunities and relax Anelka a little more often. But despite our loss to Liverpool, Chelsea is playing the best football I have seen in my 10 years supporting the club. Yes even before all these stars. The Zola Era =)

I think Grant fielded a great squad and made some key tactical decisions throughout. Starting Shevchenko up front was genius...
