why cant chelsea  play a 4-2-3-1 formation?

when was the last time chelsea scored with a free kick??? so many free kicks wasted!!! is thr no one in the squad who can fire in a curler?? other than that, what worries me is that i have to sit with my fingers crossed in front of  a slow buffering screen, watching chelsea scrap by these lower order teams!
matches like these should not even be important enough for a blues fan to worry about... but then three points is three points, whether 1-0 or 6-0...

and Chelsa should start looking for a LB or use Luiz as LB when Cahill arrives, Ashly Cole looks very shaky.

I thought Cole looked good defensively today, but he was a bit off offensively. However, I admit, both this season and last have had poor episodes from him.

Sometimes I felt Ashly fall sleep ... If you recall, Sunderland players missed empty goal and both opportuanties created from left.

Yeah even I feel the same... Luiz has already been used as LB during his Benifica days!!! Or bring on PVA..

Pretty sure Bertrand is ahead of PVA in the pecking order, people seem to forget that. He's the one who's actually been on the bench and made the odd appearance.

consider that Sunderland has become very dangerous with Martin O'Niel , 1-0 is a fantastic result.
Yes, Sunderland missed many goal scoring opportunaties, so do we. as a matter of fact if Referee gave all penalties 2 for us and 1 for Sunderland, the game was over much sooner.
The only mistake that I believe AVB made was that he did not sub both Mata and Torres earlier. at 75th minute, he should have subbed both Mata and Torres with Malouda and Surridge.
overall, fantastic result.

Good game but Sunderland looked very dangerous in the 2nd half. If the referee knew what he was doing, in my opinion, Torres could have won us 2 penalties. The first shout Im not 100% about but the 2nd one was a definite. Nando looked good, very good. Could have had a few chances if Ramires' passing was better and if Malouda and Meireles picked him instead of shooting or delaying a pass. Good game. A tight 1-0 but at the end of the day its 3 points. Very good win considering Spurs and Liverpool dropped points.

Not half bad if i may say so. Torres has been really involved, Cole has also been quite good.
Only thing i hate is our constant crossing, i want us to play on the ground through the middle of the pitch, get some one-two passes.And Rami hasnt shined so much.

Torres has been fairly excellent thus far. Still, would like to see us take it up a gear.

It's all still too ponderous to me. I'm not complaining, but I'd prefer to see us play at a higher tempo.

Sturridge is still not quite match fit I guess. Regardless, Ramires has been fantastic on the right flank in the past two games.
