This should be interesting.

Off topic: Remember when these two were marauding down the flanks for us a few seasons ago? Awesome days.

I do not think Luiz should be sent off. being last man does not always guarantee 'red card' that is what I have been thought in all referee camps I have been.
Referees always consider 3 thnigs, which we call "3D"
    1. Defender
    2. Direction
    3. Distance

referee should see if the defender comitting foul is the last man
referees should consider the direction, it must be directly toward goal
referee consider the distance of the attacker to the goal/gk. too far or too close to GK does not have red card. too far: because you do not know if other defenders can come back and cover. too close to GK because GK has opportunaty to close the angle and make it difficult so it is not 100% goal scoring opportunaty.
in case o f Luiz, Cech came out and he was so close to incident. even if Luiz did not commit the foul, Cech had opportunity to save the ball or make it difficult for the attacker.
I would not give red card in that incident.
They say "You have to be 100% sure it is goal scoring opportunity to show red card"

Again the commentators were focused on Luiz. From our team perspective, the mistake was committed by ramires...again. Instead of making an easy ball pass to a team mate, he chose to go between two maggie players....losing the ball. The pass from maggies was directly to their striker...whom luiz had to deal with awkwardly. That is my beef with ramirez...he makes fouls, mistakes and top that with nothing to offer upfront. Jack....am I wrong again ??

  • Dave

    LOL still on ramires again?

  • Not entirely, but, yeah, you're somewhat wrong. Luiz was still at fault. He was in a woeful position to deal with Ba and was clumsy in his challenge. Should've gone, but Ba was just offside so it probably evened out. Just.

You're vendetta against Ramires is ridiculous. Let it go. We just won a match - a huge one - and you're talking about the player. It's like a fixation.

  • Tela

An opinion is still an opinion. I think this board is for all of us, chelsea fans to discuss. I don't really see why, being a chelsea fan, you chose to ignore the obvious negligent mistake that lead to ba/luiz incident. It is upto ramires up the field to offer cover for the center halves. Both ivanovic and cole were on their way up the field as ramires was in possession until he messed it up.

We must always have the eye to see the root of the problem. Even if luiz made the mistake.., it was understandable cos he was the last man there..and had to take the chance. However, what ramirez did is just purely unacceptable at this level.

I will not stop pointing out this problem in our team until you start stopping your 'fixation' on ignoring ramires mistakes just cos he is a brazilian.

  • Feel free to have an opinion, no problem with that at all. We'll just keeping pointing out that it's wrong.

Glad we got a clean sheet with 3 goals. This is somewhat sad considering we won 3-0 away to Newcastle--arguably title contenders--but only 3-0 home hosting Wolves--defending at best against relegation. But, as Jack stated, we will take it!

  • That was ridiculous. We'll take it, however it comes!

  • AISIR

clean freaking sheet... lucky clean sheet but still...

Lampard needs to practice his PKs, the one time he didn't go low to the goal keeper's right... but telegraphed it in the opposite direction.. When Drogba is on the pitch, I prefer him as the PK taker..

  • Thought it was a decent enough penalty. Krul was off his line early, but, of course, that's never going to be called.

Either way, it's a win. Let's bask in it for a few hours.

  • Maysam

That is what I felt though, Krul moved early. well, Kurl is doing very well, so you cannot blame all on Lampard.

  • Mateo

    Studge is becoming very cocky...

  • Hold the hell on lads.

  • Mateo

Fuck, A cole taking one to the face for the team!

  • Mateo

Raul in Lampard out, great sub in my book.

  • This is insane.

  • Mateo

i missed the first few minutes, what did Luiz do? commentator sais he should have gotten red card

  • Was in a horrible position to make a play on the ball, and then bundled over Ba as the last defender. Probably should've gone.

  • The Mighty One!

  • And, may I say, that was an insane opening 20 minutes. Ridiculous.

  • Mateo

that would of been an insane owngoal, quite entertaining match

  • Mateo

Mata is out of this world!

  • You said it. That was jaw dropping.

  • Joshua Sutton

    Make a pass Daniel-san!

  • Gary Speed, proper man. Rest easy my friend.

  • Teams added. Romeu keeps his spot (killer). Lamps and Bob in, with Drogba spearheading.

  • Joshua Sutton

With Drogba in, we look boring.  I hope we don't see a ton of long balls to the big man.  Otherwise, I'll have to buy a Stoke jersey.

  • Tebedu

    I choose boring than loosing.

  • AISIR

drogba was phenomenal, and not just the goal... did a lot of hard work for us..

  • Maysam

I beleive we should stick to Torres rather than Drogba, but Drogba was amazing. He used his body and physical strength smartly ... he was winnig all long balls specially after Dollocini sub.
I think he contributed a lot today, and his goal was pure word-class

  • Joshua Sutton

Spot on. I posted that comment in the very early minutes of the match. The mighty ivorian came to play today for sure.
