Stay classy, Yaya Toure

By: Jack | December 12th, 2011

Yaya Toure, obviously overcome by the Christmas spirit this holiday season, ran around attempting to fight people on Monday night at Stamford Bridge. Though he committed any number of cardable offenses, his pièce de résistance featured a foul on Juan Mata, a kick to the Spaniard’s leg while he was on the ground and then, to cap the fuzzy gesture, a smack to the top of Mata’s head moments later. Classy.

Toure also kicked out at Ramires during the first half. Fortunately for us, he missed making contact by a couple of inches.

Explain to me how in the world this man avoided a booking much less being sent off? Ridiculous.

Update: Here’s some moving pictures of Toure’s kick out at Ramires. As you can see, if he had caught Ramires, it would have been right on the Achilles. That’s a potential season-ender right there with contact. Absurd.

Thanks to We Ain’t Got No History for the visuals

Oh goodness stop crying. The kick wasn't malicious, he simply saying "get up." And the slap wasn't bad either, Mata misunderstood.
