Chelsea Round-Up
By: Andy | November 20th, 2006
All three of the Chelsea teams - 1st Team, Academy and Reserves - have now played their round of matches this weekend and all have suffered different results.
With that ‘wonder’ free-kick from Right-Back and Cameroon International Geremi, Chelsea overcame a tough West Ham side 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The day before, the Academies of Chelsea and West Ham fought out a thrilling 0-0 draw at the Cobham training ground and this evening Chelsea Reserves went down to Watford Reserves 3-1 at The Recreation Ground, home of Aldershot Town FC.
New signing Magnus Hedman played his first competitive game for Chelsea in goal and had no chance with any of the Watford goals.
If you can check out Watford’s no.7 Anthony Macnamee goal from this evening’s game. He hit such a brilliant shot from about 25 yards out that Hedman started to dive after the ball had passed him.
Chelsea’s goal came from 16 year old Slovakian Youth International Miroslav Stoch after he raced on to a Scott Sinclair pass to equalise Watford’s first scored from the penalty spot.

Five years from now when Miroslav Stoch cracks the Chelsea lineup I will pay you much gratitude. He’s going to be a good one, eh?

Alrite Bob. He is showing great potential. Last night’s goal was his second for the Reserves and he has seven for the Academy team so far this season. There is no reason why he cannot become a great player - just a shame he isn’t English!!!
