Lampard to undergo scan for suspected calf tear

This doesn’t sound too promising. While the rest of the boys headed off to Spain after the disappointing draw with Norwich City, Frank Lampard remained behind. Poor guy.

He instead headed back to London in order to undergo scans on what is suspected to be a torn calf muscle. You may recall him being removed after only 37 minutes at Carrow Road.

Lampard will undergo a scan and if the injury proves not to be too serious, he will join up with the training camp at a later stage.

This could prove significant if Lampard is ruled out for an extended amount of time. We’re already a bit lean in the middle of the park as is. Fortunately Michael Essien has returned and can hopefully help us ease the pressure. As always, we’ll keep you posted on Frank’s condition as information becomes available.

Missing out on a super fun vacation is probably more disappointing than missing a game. This might be why I'm not a professional footballer.

Also, it's a shame Josh went to Swansea, or else this could be a real opening for him to get some minutes, assuming the worst that Lampard is out for some time.
