if you see what Ronaldo was in 03 and what he is now you will understand what I mean by Utd nurturing him their way...Quaresma was also supposed to be as good as Ronaldo wasn't he?? what happened to him..he is still not bad but their is a diff bw good player and one of the three best players in the world...(have to admit its the player's effort also)..and that is what you will see in Nani and Anderson in three or four years from now...Can I say the same about Shevchenko, Ballack or even Drogba?? no I am afraid...and that is the exact reason why Utd are after the 17 year old still a kid -- Ramsey but Chelsea are not...you know what I am talking abt but I do not expect anyone here to understand!! I agree no need to continue this...adios..

Again, your points are easily deconstructed. Guts? That's hilarious considering each player you mention was somewhat a proven commodity -- and cost a immense sum. No need to even continue this debate.

He was pretty damn good in the C' league final, constantly harassing Essien all through , scoring once and providing one of the pin point crosses that Tevez unfortunately missed. At the Stamford Bridge game, he was introduced after 60 mns with United never really needing a win to win the league. Still his shot was cleared off the line by Cole (I think)..as for the game at OT, United were always in control after the red card (harsh i.m.o.)..the very fact that the defense can just give the ball to players like him, Rooney and Tevez for them to hold onto it and relieve some pressure is something that is so neglected these days...I tried to point it in the last message but you guys did not get the drift....
And the fact that you are hoping that your rival club's key player leaves, and not in fact thinking of what you can do to match them is just plain pathetic.
And who have Utd brought in last season?? Nani..19, Anderson 19, Tevez, 23..Among these only Tevez has proven his worth at big clubs (ya its not from their youth academy but how many good english players have come after the bex era?? )...similarly they bought Ronaldo when he was 18 ...your club got the guts to get someone this young and nurture them? who do they buy,,Ballack, Shevchenko, Anelka, Drogba..etc.etc..proven stars that are bound to bring success..not much teaching there! Although its not from their youth academy but there is a BIG difference between scouting and buying a gem at a tender age and nurturing them the club's way and just throwing money at players after most of the teaching has been done :D

Mat, you just lost all credibility with that "his affect was much much more than you will ever give him credit for" garbage. What exactly did he do in either Premier League match with Chelsea. He was anonymous.

And what are you babbling on about youth academies for? United haven't produced anyone of note since Bex and the Nevilles clan came through. Also, it's not like United didn't blow close to 100mil last season on foreign talent. Push on.

Tell me Dave, if he were this superstar in the Portuguese league (with the same bad attitude), would your team not have paid like 70-80 million pounds for him this summer??...(you cannot buy him now as Fergie will never let him go to Chelsea!)..so just shut your mouth up and man up ...if ManUtd have raised him to these levels, try to nurture someone better from your youths or the "youth academy"...oh no ..that does not exist...its crazy even with all the money in the world your team cannot scout for young talents..just buy finished players to the titles right!! :D ..
..and if you say he did not have any effect against Chelsea in the 2.5 games he played against your team this year then you are clearly someone who does not understand much football..granted he scored only one goal but his affect was much much more than you will ever give him credit for...its a team game mate!

Ha, well played Dave. It's not that I care about his talent, it's more his attitude that I'm happy to see go.

And for those thinking he will stay, I do not think so. Can you imagine who United can buy with the funds? How could they turn that down? I'm more worried about that than him actually leaving.

Uh Mat, maybe you didn't watch any of the Chelsea v. Dirty Manc games, but Ronaldo rarely impressed in any of the fixtures. His only impact was his Champions League goal, but the goal was bound to come and could've arrived off anyone's head Essien gave him so much room. You're clearly just a mug who enjoyed that picture of Ronaldo on his bike too much.
