Cahill scores for England, Robben reminds us all what we’ve been missing

By: Jack | February 29th, 2012

There were a number of international friendlies on Thursday’s docket, among them England hosting the Netherlands at Wembley. Cool story.

The Dutch ran out 3-2 winners thanks to the mercurial Arjen Robben, who once again reminded us Chelsea supporters just what could have been had he remained at the club rather than leaving in the summer of 2007. There was also a highlight for our newest defender, Gary Cahill. Cahill netted the Three Lions’ opener late on with what was a rather cool finish (even if the goalkeeping wasn’t exactly up to standard). I reckon we need to employ both Bob and Gary up top on recent evidence.

Hit the jump for moving pictures of the match.

Rafa for sporting director. JK. Unless this magically turns Torres back into super striker along with his gold locks, then i'm dead serious. don't ever really trust harry harris...

2nd note, Dan missed a sitter didn't he?

It was fun watching him collecting those long balls on stride during the Mourinho days....those were the days my friend...

Can't believe you guys let him go. He is better than anyone in England still!

He wanted to leave. If a player wants to leave, you can't do anything
That summer he came to USA with Chelsea. Unlik AVB who didn't let anelka and Alex train with team, robben was there, fans were taking pcture with hi
Eventhough he was leaving. Lesson that AVB must learn.

Cahil made huge mistake on the first goal though .... England defense is a joke , no chance in UERO

Chelsea, home of defenders that score more than a certain striker.

i wish Robben had never left. he is so good he only needs half a season a year to be world class.
